Introduction

This financial aid scheme aims to honor the sacrifices and dedication of our brave defense and CAPF personnel by ensuring their dependents receive financial assistance for their education, encouraging academic success across generations.

Eligibility for Application

The applicant’s parent(s) must be a serving or retired member of the Indian Armed Forces, CAPF, or allied organizations.

    • Defense Forces: Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard
    • Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF): Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guards (NSG)
    • Allied Forces/ Organizations: Railway Protection Force (RPF), Special Frontier Force (SFF), Assam Rifles, Border Road Organization, General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Military Engineers Service (MES), Defence Security Corps (DSC), Ordnance Factory Board.
    • Gallantry Awards Considered: ParamVir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Veer Chakra & Shaurya Chakra, President’s Tatrakshak Medal and Tatrakshak Medal, President’s Police medal for Gallantry, President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, President’s Police medal, Sena medal.
    • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the general admission criteria for their chosen programme of study at the university.
    • Applicability: The benefits are extended to serving, retired personnel and their dependents (Spouse, Wards). The agniveers serving or who have completed their tenure may also be considered for benefits. However, the Civilians employed in defence and CAPF forces including allied organizations are not considered for the benefits of the scheme.
    • Nationality: The applicant must be a citizen of India.

Benefits under the Scheme

The eligibility relaxation and financial aid benefits are given below:

*Note:- Eligible students will be awarded an additional 20% financial aid on the remaining fee after deduction of the scholarship. Please note that students availing any other financial aid (LPU Shikshak Samman Anudaan, Orphan, Person with certain Disability, Need Based) will not be eligible for the additional benefits.

Eligibility Relaxation

  • A relaxation of 5% in eligibility will be given for all categories and programmes (Diploma, Programmes after 10+2, Programmes after Graduation etc.) except for programmes where certain regulatory bodies have imposed minimum eligibility conditions (For details please contact our Admission Office or the concerned dealing official).
  • All the serving officers (from all the forces covered under this policy), who are willing to take admission to LPU through study leave will be exempted from entrance exam and interview conducted by LPU (Except Ph.D. programmes and any other programmes where eligibility test is compulsory as per the regulatory authorities).

Programme Considered

The applications are generally accepted in all regular programmes, Except, Programmes with tie-up, work-integrated; and After Ph.D. are not included for benefits under the scheme. The scheme is not applicable for distance learning or online programmes.

Important Dates

The last date of application will be till the last date of admission.

Application Submission

  • Fill the details in the application form
    (Application for LPU Rakshak Samman Anudaan-2026)
  • Color Scan all the required documents.
  • Submit the application along with applicable documents through an email to financialaid@lpu.co.in. The subject of email must have: Application for LPU Rakshak Samman Anudaan – name of Applicant.
  • In case an applicant is visiting University campus or designated offices of university in various cities, the scanned copy of application and applicable documents to be emailed at financialaid@lpu.co.in. by the university official or by applicant before the due date.
  • The application can be submitted before or after taking admission.
  • Note: The applicant should clearly mention details/ information pertaining to the scheme and scanned documents must be readable.
  • The applicant shall be responsible to ensure that all required documents for availing benefits under the scheme are completed on or before the specified due date(s).

Selection of Application

Applications will be reviewed by the university financial aid team or committee and the decisions will be made based on the committee recommendation.

Result Declaration and Intimation

The result of applications will be communicated individually through an email within 10-15 working days from date of application marked complete.

Disbursement of Benefits

The financial aid benefits will be directly awarded to the student’s fee account within 7-10 working days from date of application approved by the LPU committee, reducing the amount payable.

Documents to be submitted

The applicant is required to submit following documents:

  • For Serving Personnel:

    The color scanned copy of the following documents required:

    • Application Form for LPU Rakshak Samman Anudan.
    • Service ID Card (with Service No.) or Serving Certificate from Commanding Officer of Unit currently posted with seal.
    • Dependent Card (preference) or Relationship Certificate with photograph, duly signed and stamp.
    • 10th Marksheet and Eligibility Qualification Marksheet(s) as applicable.
    • Additional Document: Gallantry Award Certificate with copy of Gazette.
    • Additional Document: Canteen ID Card.
    • Any other document(s) required by the committee from time to time.
  • Officers on Study Leave:
    • Additionally, the officials need to submit the Study Leave and/or Bonafide Certificate from Respective Directorate of Education, Delhi.
  • For Ex-Servicemen:

    The color scanned copy of the following documents required:

    • Application Form for LPU Rakshak Samman Anudaan.
    • Ex-Servicemen ID Card.
    • Discharge Book (Pages containing Personnel’s and his/her Dependents photographs and details).
    • Pension Pay Order (PPO).
    • Dependent Card or ECHS ID Card of Dependent (Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme).
    • 10th Marksheet and Eligibility Qualification Marksheet(s) as applicable.
    • Additional Document: Gallantry Award Certificate with copy of Gazette.
    • Additional Document: Canteen ID Card.
    • Any other document required by the committee from time to time.

Insufficient information or incomplete documents will make applicants ineligible and such applications will not be processed/ presented before the committee.

Other Terms and Conditions: All other conditions as mentioned under the head “Terms & Conditions for LPU-Scholarship, its different phases” in Part-B of Prospectus or on university website will also be applicable.
