English Language Requirements

All International Applicants are required to satisfy one of the following English language requirements irrespective of the programme in which they are seeking admissions i.e. if an applicant is seeking admission in a programme where English is not prescribed as a compulsory course in the Eligibility condition; even then he/she has to satisfy one of the following English Language Requirement:

  • Applicant must have passed english course in 10th or higher examination.
  • OR
  • Applicants has done his/her education (eligibility qualification or higher) in some university/school where English has been the instruction of language. In such cases, the applicant has to provide proof of the same from the University/School or have to provide a document that is available on the official website of the University/school.
  • OR
  • IELTS BAND of 5.5
  • OR
  • TOEFL (ICBT) score of 70 or equivalent in any of the TOEFL format.
  • OR
  • Certificate for Proficiency in English Language (minimum 3 months duration).

More Information

  • The language of instructions in the university is English and it is recommended that all international students applying for admission in the regular programme should be proficient in the English Language (strong reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English Language). University will not be responsible for any problem faced by the student in class due to lack of proficiency in the English Language. No relaxation in the exam or any other component of the evaluation of the university will be provided in such cases. In case the University apprises that the student is not proficient in English, the student might be asked to join the English Language Program concurrently with the regular program. The University can also change his enrolled program and put him in any other program deemed appropriate for him by the University.
  • If the degree/ transcript/ certificate of a candidate does not clearly specify the grade/ percentage obtained by the applicant in the qualifying exam then to find the equivalent percentage from a given transcript/DMC, the method as prescribed in Prospectus Part – C under the head “General Admissions Guidelines” shall be used.

How to Apply

Fill Online Application Form & Upload Documents
  • Register onto LPUADMIT with basic details (Email ID, Name, Country, Mobile Number, Gender and Password).
  • You should ensure to register using the correct email id as all further communication will be through email only.
  • After registration, select the programme of your interest and fill the application form.
  • In case your final result is awaited, choose the result status option as “awaited” while submitting the qualification exam information.
  • In case the content in the marks sheet/ transcript is not in English, a certified English translated version must also be uploaded in addition to the native language certificate.
  • You should ensure that the application form is duly filled and the documentary evidence of the qualifying exam supporting the admission (if any) is also uploaded on LPUADMIT

Download offer letter (OL)

After receiving the online application and fulfilling of due formalities by the due date as required, the university may issue “Offer Letter (OL)” for provisional admission or “Conditional Offer Letter” as the case may be that can be downloaded by clicking on “Download Your Offer Letter” under "step 2". Unless or otherwise you will be informed through an email.

Fee payment & Updation
  • The applicant shall transfer the fee to the university bank account as mention in the Offer Letter and upload payment transaction proof within the stipulated time along with following documents
  • Proof of Payment made to LPU’s Bank account.
  • Duly filled and signed “Acceptance of Offer Letter” (4th page of the Offer Letter).
  • Copy of valid Passport (National Identity proof in case of Nepal and Bhutan)
  • The applicant has to ensure that he/she has read and understood all the guidelines, policies and instructions as mentioned in the Offer Letter and the university website www.lpu.in before accepting the terms of Acceptance of Offer Letter & transferring the fee.
  • For details about payment of fee, please refer “How to Pay” section of the International website
  • If the conditions mentioned in the Offer Letter are not met and completed, and “ Acceptance of Offer Letter” is not received by the university before the last date of admission as mentioned in the admission schedule on the University Website www.lpu.in, the admission will not be confirmed unless otherwise decided by the university.
Download acceptance letter (AL)

After receiving the "Acceptance of Offer Letter" and verifying the fulfilment of all the conditions as mentioned in the Offer Letter and confirmation of the payment transfer details updated by the applicant in the online application portal before the last date of admission, the university will issue the Acceptance Letter which can be downloaded by clicking on “Download Acceptance Letter” under "Step 4". Unless or otherwise you will be informed through an email.

The Acceptance Letter issued by the University can only be used for applying for an Indian student visa. An offer letter cannot be used to apply for the Indian Student Visa.

Important Information

Visa application

The applicant should apply for the “student visa” endorsed on the institution name i.e., “Lovely Professional University” at the nearest Indian High Commission/ Indian Embassy immediately after getting the Acceptance Letter. The application for Visa should be supported by all the relevant documents. It generally takes 3-6 weeks to get the Indian Visa. Thus, it is advisable to apply for the visa accordingly and consult the Indian High Commission/ Indian Embassy in the concerned country. For further information, kindly read VISA related FAQ’s.

Reporting at the University Campus

  • The student should report at the university as per the reporting schedule available on the university’s website or click here.
  • It is strongly recommended that the student should report at the university in time to attend the induction programme for new students and to avoid loss of important lectures and attendance. There will be no relaxation in attendance or evaluation process for late reported students due to delay in visa or any other reason whatsoever.
  • Student reports earlier than the prescribed reporting schedule, will not be allowed to join the university and may be asked to go back to the home country.
  • University may also cancel the admission of the student reports at the university beyond the prescribed reporting time.

FRRO (Foreign Regional Registration Office)

Registration with FRRO (Foreign Regional Registration Office) is mandatory for all International students (except Bhutan and Nepal), within14daysoftheir arrival in India. The time frame to register with FRRO may vary from 24 hours to 14 days of arrival depending on the country of origin of the student.

  • A student has to satisfy all the conditions as laid down by the university from time to time, failing may lead to cancellation of the admission or otherwise decided by the university.
