FAQ’s

Who is eligible to apply for this financial aid?

Applicants must have a benchmark disability of 70% or more, as certified by a competent authority. Locomotor disabilities due to spinal cord injury are also covered. Deaf and dumb disabilities are not eligible under this scheme.

I have a disability but not a UDID card. Can I still apply?

The UDID card is mandatory. If you have applied for it but haven’t received it yet, attach the application receipt and submit the UDID card later before final approval.

Are international students or NRI students eligible?

No, only Indian nationals are eligible for this financial aid scheme.

Which programmes are eligible under this scheme?

Most regular full-time programmes are covered. However, regulatory programme, International credit transfer, tie-up programmes, and work-integrated programmes are excluded.

How can I apply for the scheme?

Fill the application form, scan all required documents in color, and email them to financialaid@lpu.co.in.

Can I apply before taking admission to LPU?

Yes, you can apply before or after taking admission. However, aid will be processed only after completing admission formalities.

Is there an offline submission process?

Yes, if visiting campus or an LPU city office, university officials can help email your application.

What documents are required for the application?

The following documenmt are required:

  • Application form
  • UDID card
  • Certificate of disability (from Chief Medical Officer)
  • Income declaration (as per university Performa)
Will mobile phone photographs of documents be accepted?

No, only clear color scans are accepted. Blurred or incomplete documents will lead to rejection.

How are applications selected?

Selection is based on:

  • Disability percentage (higher preferred)
  • In case of tie: academic performance and then age (older preferred)
If I meet all criteria but apply late, will I still be considered?

Applications are accepted till the last date, but seat availability is limited, so early taking provisional admission as normal student is advised to reserve the seat.

Does the scheme cover hostel, food, or transport expenses?

No, the scheme covers programme fee and examination fee only. Hostel, mess, laundry, and attendant expenses are to be borne by the student.
