LPU is dedicated to an inclusive and accessible future for students with spinal cord injuries and disabilities. By breaking barriers, both physical and social, we empower them to thrive. Your support, in cash or kind, can transform lives. Join us in making a difference!
Your support can change lives by turning dreams into reality. Many students have big dreams but lack the resources to achieve them. With your help, we can give them the opportunities they deserve. Be the reason a student gets an education, a meal, an equipment or a chance to succeed. Together, we can create a future where no dream is out of reach.
LPU operates a dedicated financial aid scheme tailored specifically for SCI-affected students
Eligible applicants receive a full waiver on standard program fees and examination fees across most regular undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The university reserves 25 exclusive seats per year under the scheme. 16 seats are designated for applicants referred by the Spinal Cord Injury Association (SCIA) Jalandhar, and 9 seats are open for direct financial aid requests.
Applicants generally must possess a 70% or higher benchmark locomotor disability verified by a competent authority via a valid UDID card.
To ensure a secure living environment, LPU adapts its residential services for SCI students
Students entering via the SCIA referral route receive free hostel dormitory accommodation (in the base fee category)
Personal attendants or caregivers are allowed to reside in the same room as the student without paying any additional residential room fee (charges apply only for optional food and laundry services).
Hostel blocks housing SCI students feature customized, fully wheelchair-accessible bathrooms equipped with handrails and barrier-free layouts.
The physical and academic campus environment is tailored to support full student mobility and independence
The entire campus features a network of interconnect ramps, dedicated elevators, and smooth transit pathways to allow unrestricted movement between academic block, libraries, and hostels.
Classrooms, labs, and modified rest areas are systematically optimized to support wheelchair positioning, eliminating physical barriers during lectures.
The campus actively funds and fosters adaptive sports; it has trained elite students-athletes who have reached top international ranks in fields like Para Table Tennis.
For assessment challenges, LPU permits the allocation of official scribes during examination for students experiencing extensive physical or writing limitations.
Applicants must have a benchmark disability of 70% or more, as certified by a competent authority. Locomotor disabilities due to spinal cord injury are also covered. Deaf and dumb disabilities are not eligible under this scheme.
The UDID card is mandatory. If you have applied for it but haven’t received it yet, attach the application receipt and submit the UDID card later before final approval.
No, only Indian nationals are eligible for this financial aid scheme.
Most regular full-time programmes are covered. However, regulatory programme, International credit transfer, tie-up programmes, and work-integrated programmes are excluded.
