We understand this is a stressful time for students looking forward for their studies after completing their senior secondary or graduation. The closure of all educational institutes due to COVID-19 lockdown has resulted in exam delays and is affecting both school and college students around the world, and there is still some uncertainty about the extent of disruption before the situation gets normal.

01: Are admissions open at Lovely Professional University for 2020-21?
Answer: Yes, the admission process has started at Lovely Professional University. During the current lockdown period due to COVID-19 pandemic, to support candidates, LPU has initiated a fully online application to admission process. 02: What steps Lovely Professional University has taken to support new students in taking admission?
Answer: Lovely Professional University is closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and has taken multiple initiatives to support prospective candidates to pursue their higher studies in best possible way:
  • Provisional admission can be taken by paying a nominal fee of Rs. 10,000 only.
  • Flexibility to pay balance fees till 31st July 2020 to help students during these pressing times.
  • Cut-off reduced from 80% to 70% in qualifying exam to support deserving students in obtaining higher education.
  • Scholarship will also be offered on the basis of qualification previous to Eligibility qualification. For example, someone seeking admission in B.Tech can seek scholarship on the basis of 10+2 (Eligibility Qualification) or 10th (Qualification previous to 10+2)
  • New 'Covid-19 Frontline Scholarship' scheme for the wards of Doctors, Nurses, Media personnel, Police personnel, Bank employees, District Administration, Sanitation workers, Other Health care professionals and many more.Click here to know more
  • Liberal refund policy, deduction of Rs. 1000 only from the programme fees till 15th August, 2020 and balance is refunded. For Post Graduate Agriculture Programmes candidate can apply for the refund on or before 15th July, 2020.

03: Since there is complete lockdown in the country, how can I complete the admission process?
Answer: Admission process is fully online and applicants are not required to visit personally anywhere. Visit https://admission.lpu.in/ to initiate your online admission process. Even the entrance test and Interviews are also being conducted through remotely proctored online mode depending upon requirement as per programme eligibility. The candidate can appear for the test and interview from their homes only.
04: What are the various courses/programmes offered at LPU?
Answer: LPU offered more than 200 programmes in 40+ disciplines. You can visit university website www.lpu.in for details about various Programmes
05: I’m interested in taking admission, but my board/university exams were cancelled/postponed due to pandemic. Can I take admission without having 12th grades/ marks.
Answer: Yes, you can take admission without final grades/marks after submission of an undertaking. Looking at the current scenario when most of boards/universities have postponed their exams, you will be given reasonable time (depending upon the declaration of result by the respective board/university) to submit your final result. However, you need to fulfil the eligibility criteria once your board/university declares the result.
06: What are the important dates regarding the admissions?
Answer: 31st July is the last date of admissions for second phase. The admissions may continue thereafter in Phase-III, but the scholarship will be reduced. In case the seats remain vacant, subsequent phases may also be conducted but scholarship will keep on reducing with every phase.
07: What is a minimum fee payment to reserve a seat?
Answer: You can take provisional admission and confirm your seat by paying a nominal fee of Rs. 10,000 in all programmes which would be adjusted against your programme fee of the semester (M.A Hindi/Punjabi, Minimum Fee payment for provisional admission in M.A Hindi/Punjabi is Rs. 5,000).
08: How much time will I get to deposit the balance fees?
Answer: The balance payment of fee under ideal situation is expected to be paid within 10-15 days after the allotment of seat. However, looking at the current situation of uncertainty due to COVID-19, University will provide reasonable time for payment of balance fee. You may pay the balance fee in parts till 31st July 2020. 09: How I am going to pay during the lockdown?
Answer: You can pay it online by using your application portal at https://admission.lpu.in. Multiple online methods are available like credit card/debit card/online banking for payment. Click here to know more.
10: How can I apply for a hostel?
Answer: You can apply for hostel facilities online by using your application portal at https://admission.lpu.in. after the admission and any time before joining the university. However, it is advised to book the hostels at the earliest possible option, to avail facilities of your choice and to avoid last moment rush.
11: Is mess and laundry facility compulsory to take with residential facility?
Answer: No, both are optional and can also be availed at the time of reporting in the university.
12: What are dates for the LPUNEST test?
Answer: LPUNEST dates are announced. We suggest you to take admission as in the majority of programmes, we have relaxed the eligibility criteria of passing LPUNEST in 2020 to support candidates in these pressing times of COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown. Click here to view programme wise LPUNEST Dates.
13: What are the documents required for taking online admission?
Answer: The scanned copies of following documents are required at the time of making application for online admission:
  1. Passport size photograph of candidate and parents (Father and Mother)
  2. Matriculation Certificate(if applicable)
  3. Eligibility qualification certificate (depending on programme) including previous qualifications (Eligibility qualification may be submitted later-on in case the final result has not been declared till date)
  4. Gap affidavit (If applicable - Self)
  5. Aadhaar card of candidate and parents
  6. Category certificate (if applicable, for eg. if claiming eligibility relaxation on the basis of category)
  7. Income affidavit of parents (Self in case of Ph.D)
14: Is it compulsory to fill all details of the online application or admission form?
Answer: It is recommended that you should fill all fields mentioned in the application form, but you may only fill the mandatory fields marked as (*) to submit your admission application.
15: How can I ascertain that my admission is confirmed?
Answer: The candidate is required to complete some basic formalities {register online, upload documents, pay a minimum amount of fee, clear entrance test/interview (if applicable)} to confirm the seat in any programme subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria. An eight-digit provisional registration number will be generated and will be shared on registered mobile number and email-id of the candidate, indicating the confirmation of seat.
16: What are the various scholarships offered by LPU?
Answer: The scholarship is offered in all the programmes in order to provide financial benefit to bright and deserving students. During the last year, LPU has granted scholarships worth INR 100+ crores to students (maximum up-to 4.9 lacs per student) to pursue their education. Following are few criteria for grant of scholarship.
  • Based on LPUNEST
  • Based on percentage (After 10th/ 12th/ Graduation/ Lateral Entry)
  • Based on qualification previous to eligibility qualification
  • Based on National Level Test (JEE (Mains/ NEET/ NATA/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ NMAT/ GATE/ GPAT/ CLAT/ UCEED/ SPM/ JRF/ NET (LS))
  • Basis on Sports/ Cultural, R&D, Co-curricular, Social Services and Bravery Awards
  • Scholarship to Defence, CAPF personnel and their dependents
  • Special Scholarship to Toppers of Education Boards
  • Scholarship to Orphan Applicants/ Person with Certain Disability
  • COVID-19 Frontline Scholarship for wards of Doctors, Nurses, Media personnel, Police personnel, Bank employees and many more.

17: When are the classes expected to commence?
Answer:The Classes for all 1st year students are going to commence from 1st week of August 2020. To ensure the safety of the students, the university is closely monitoring the situation and will follow government guidelines so far as physical classes at campus are concerned. In case the start of physical classes is delayed as per the government guidelines, live online classes will start as per the schedule (1st week of August 2020) so that there is no loss of the studies.You can visit the university website for updates.
18: When can I visit the campus?
Answer: One can now visit the University campus on any working day from 9 am to 5 pm (except Saturday and Sunday, as per Punjab Government guidelines, on every Saturday, there is lockdown after 5 PM and complete lockdown on Sunday. So anyone who is planning to visit campus on Saturday should keep these timings in mind. Generally it takes 2 hours to complete the admission process, 1 hour for walk-in counselling and campus visit). Social Distancing norms and wearing of Mask is to be followed properly while visiting the campus. The suitable Sanitisation facilities are available in University Campus.

20: What if I don’t meet the eligibility conditions specified by the university? What will happen to my candidature?
Answer: LPU offers more than 200 different programmes in 40 disciplines and you can transfer to a program that fulfils your eligibility conditions or you can apply for refund and you will get the refund as per the university refund policy. Read more about Refund
21: I made mistakes in my application. How will I be able to correct them?
Answer: You need to send information from your registered email-ID to admissions@lpu.co.in explaining the corrections/details. Don’t forget to mention your application ID and registered Mobile or you can call us at 18001024431/01824-517000.
22: What are the eligibility requirements for admission? Is LPUNEST a mandatory requirement for admission?
Answer: The eligibility criterion varies from programme to programme. You can visit university website (www.lpu.in) for detailed information about the eligibility of any particular programme. LPUNEST is now a mandatory requirement for B.Tech, PG Agriculture, LL.M. and Ph.D only.
23: I am expecting to get around 60% marks. Will I get any scholarship?
Answer: You can still get scholarship on the basis of your performance in LPUNEST or on the basis of other scholarship schemes offered by University, for details visit Scholarship Schemes
24: If I take admission now without LPUNEST, do I need to qualify LPUNEST later?
Answer: No, it is not mandatory to qualify LPUNEST (except in B.Tech, PG Agriculture, LL.M. and Ph.D). Though in case, if you want to improve your scholarship, you can appear in the LPUNEST exam as per schedule communicated Click here to view programme wise LPUNEST Dates.
25: What if I decide to withdraw admission later? What are the refund rules?
Answer: In case, candidate applies for the refund on or before 15th August 2020, then the amount deposited by the candidate will be refunded after deduction of INR 1000 only. If a candidate has availed residential facility, INR 500 will be deducted separately from that fee of residential facilities as well. 26: I am an International applicant, willing to pursue my Graduation from LPU, what is the minimum eligibility criteria?
Answer: The eligibility criterion for international applicants differs for different programmes. Details regarding the eligibility of the programme you are interested in can be verified at Admission - International Applicants.

28: How are the placements rates?
