The closure of all educational institutes due to COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in exam delays and is affecting both school and college students around the world, and there is still some uncertainty about the extent of disruption before the situation gets normal.

We are closely monitoring the on-going COVID-19 pandemic situation and have taken several contingency measures in order to facilitate prospective students in joining higher studies at Lovely Professional University. 01: Are admissions open at Lovely Professional University for 2021-22?
Answer: Yes, the admission process has started at Lovely Professional University. During the current period of COVID-19 pandemic, to support candidates, LPU has initiated a fully online application to admission process. 02: What steps Lovely Professional University has taken to support new students in taking admission?
Answer: Lovely Professional University is closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and has taken multiple initiatives to support prospective candidates to pursue their higher studies in best possible way:
  • Complete Online Process:
    • Fully Online Application and Admission process: Student can complete all the stages of admission from Application to appearing for test, interview, taking admission and uploading of documents through online mode only.
    • Proctored Test/ Interview from Home: LPU has also initiated the conduct of remotely proctored online LPUNEST from home and remote video Interviews for admission.

  • Flexible and Easy Payment options for Admissions
    • Provisional admission by paying a nominal fee of 10,000 in all programmes (except M.Sc. Agriculture and M.Pharm. Programmes).
    • The balance payment period is generally 10-15 days after the allotment of seat but now the student can deposit the balance fees till 15th July 2021 in parts (except M.Sc. Agriculture and M.Pharm. Programmes).

  • Higher Scholarship:
    • Augmenting support to deserving candidates, LPU has further expanded the scope of scholarship.
    • Scholarship will also be offered on the basis of qualification previous to eligibility qualification. For example, someone seeking admission in B.Tech. can seek scholarship on the basis of 10+2 (Eligibility Qualification) or 10th (Qualification previous to 10+2).

  • Document Submission: Looking at the current scenario of postponement of exams in most cases, the eligibility qualification documents can be submitted whenever the result will be declared by the board/ university from where the student is pursuing previous qualification, may be in August/ September or even later. The university will consider it for admission verification; however, eligibility requirements will have to be fulfilled in all cases.
  • Easy and Convenient Refund Processing: In case of refund, LPU has also extended its support to candidates by accepting refund applications through online mode. If any candidate applies for the refund on or before 31st July 2021, then the amount deposited by the candidate for programme fee will be refunded after deduction of INR 1000 only.   • Our Proactive approach: At LPU, we have always been guided by our commitment to respond to every situation in a proactive manner. Dealing with COVID-19 situation was challenging not only for us but for everyone on this universe.
    However, LPU delivered on its critical commitments to facilitate effective learning for our students by training and advancing their knowledge frontier through comprehensive (360°) use of technology. We are first among few organisations in the country who immediately responded the situation by:
    • Starting new session for Batch 2020 in July/ August 2020.
    • Completing 1st and 2nd semester for 2020 batch students on time in December 2020 and May 2021 respectively.
    • Started Online classes:
      • To ensure that the precious time of the students is not lost, we started with live online classes immediately after the announcement of lockdown in March 2020.
      • Developing “LPU MyClass”, an in house robust platform, in collaboration with some of the best tech companies for online teaching and evaluation.
      • Live online classes, much like face-to-face classes whose effectiveness has already been well tested in the last two semesters wherein more than 1,00,000 hours of online sessions were conducted for LPU students across various academic programs.
      • These classes will continue till physical classes are permitted by the government and we are certain that you will enjoy this experience, which has its own charm and advantages, to prepare you for the technology dominated future.
    • Continued our focus on holistic development of the students, conducted 1000+ cultural events, co-curricular activities community projects, Expert lectures and Conferences in the Pandemic year.
    • Witnessed one of the best placement sessions even in this Pandemic by securing 7000+ offers for jobs, internships, trainings etc.

  • Proportionate Charges for residential Facilities: COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in delay of the commencement of classes in the physical mode resulting in shorter duration of stay in university residence and use of other residential facilities. The charges of residential facilities will be reduced proportionately, and students will be required to pay for the duration from the announced date of start of Physical classes till the announced date of end of academic Session including Examination.
  • Campus preparedness:
    • Temperature and other checks at entrance points of the university.
    • All the members of faculty and staff are required to follow the COVID-19 related policies and requirements as stated by State/ Central Government.
    • Additional measures include:
      • Regular Cleaning & Disinfecting of workspace.
      • Restrictive entry in the campus for all outsiders.
      • 24X7 medical and health support through in-house Campus Hospital.
      • Work from home option given to members having any health concerns.
03: Since there is complete lockdown in the country, how can I complete the admission process?
Answer: Admission process is fully online and applicants are not required to visit personally anywhere. Visit https://admission.lpu.in/ to initiate your online admission process. LPU has also initiated the conduct of remotely proctored online LPUNEST from home and remote video Interviews for admission depending upon requirement as per programme eligibility.
04: What are the various courses/programmes offered at LPU?

05: I’m interested in taking admission, but my board/ university exams were cancelled/ postponed due to pandemic. Can I take admission without having 12th grades/ marks.
Answer: Yes, you can take admission without final grades/ marks after submission of an undertaking. Looking at the current scenario when most of boards/ universities have postponed their exams, you will be given reasonable time (depending upon the declaration of result by the respective board/ university) to submit your final result. However, you need to fulfil the eligibility criteria once your board/ university declares the result.
06: What are the important dates regarding the admissions?
Answer: Currently Schedules of Phase I is going on, in this Scholarship phase the last date to take admission is 5th July, 2021. The admissions may continue after the current phase, but the scholarship will be reduced. The subsequent phases will be conducted only if the seats remain vacant but the scholarship will keep on reducing with every phase.
07: What is a minimum fee payment to reserve a seat?
Answer: You can take provisional admission and confirm your seat by paying a nominal fee of Rs. 10,000 in all programmes which would be adjusted against your programme fee of the semester (except M.Sc. Agriculture and M.Pharm. Programmes).
08: How much time will I get to deposit the balance fees?
Answer: The balance payment of fee under ideal situation is expected to be paid within 10-15 days after the allotment of seat. However, looking at the current situation of uncertainty due to COVID-19, University will provide reasonable time for payment of balance fee. 09: How I am going to pay during the lockdown?

10: How can I apply for a hostel?
Answer: You can apply for hostel facilities online by using your application portal at https://admission.lpu.in. after the admission and any time before joining the university. However, it is advised to book the hostels at the earliest possible option, to avail facilities of your choice and to avoid last moment rush. Click here to know more.
11: Is mess and laundry facility compulsory to take with residential facility?
Answer: No, both are optional and can also be availed at the time of reporting in the university.
12: What are dates for the LPUNEST test?
Answer: LPUNEST dates are announced. We suggest you to take LPUNEST Exam as it act as entrance and scholarship test for most of the programme. 13: What are the documents required for taking online admission?
Answer: The scanned copies of following documents are required at the time of making application for online admission:
  1. Passport size photograph of candidate and parents (Father and Mother)
  2. Matriculation Certificate (if applicable)
  3. Eligibility qualification certificate (depending on programme) including previous qualifications (Eligibility qualification may be submitted later-on in case the final result has not been declared till date)
  4. Gap affidavit (If applicable - Self)
  5. Aadhaar card of candidate and parents
  6. Category certificate (if applicable, for eg. if claiming eligibility relaxation on the basis of category)
  7. Income affidavit of parents (Self in case of Ph.D.)
14: Is it compulsory to fill all details of the online application or admission form?
Answer: It is recommended that you should fill all fields mentioned in the application form, but you may only fill the mandatory fields marked as (*) to submit your admission application.
15: How can I ascertain that my admission is confirmed?
Answer: The candidate is required to complete some basic formalities {register online, upload documents, pay a minimum amount of fee, clear entrance test/ interview (if applicable)} to confirm the seat in any programme subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria. An eight-digit provisional registration number will be generated and will be shared on registered mobile number and email-id of the candidate, indicating the confirmation of seat.
16: What are the various scholarships offered by LPU?
Answer: The scholarship is offered in all the programmes in order to provide financial benefit to bright and deserving students. During the last year, LPU has granted scholarships worth INR 100+ crores to students (maximum up-to 6 lacs per student) to pursue their education. Following are few criteria for grant of scholarship.
  • Scholarship:
    • Eligibility Qualification/ Qualification previous to Eligibility Qualification: The scholarship will also be offered on the basis of Eligibility qualification. For example, on the basis of performance in 10+2 for Undergraduate Programmes and Graduation for Postgraduate Programmes
    • Certain National Level Tests (like JEE (Main), NEET, UCEED, CAT, MAT, GATE, GPAT etc.)
    • LPUNEST: (LPU National Entrance & Scholarship Test)
    • Performance in Sports, Cultural, R&D, Co-curricular, Social Service and Bravery Awards
    • Scholarships/ Fee Benefits for Ph.D.

17: When are the classes expected to commence?
Answer: In the interest of your safety and wellbeing, we are waiting for the government guidelines to start with the face-to-face classes. 18: When can I visit the campus?
Answer: One can now visit the University campus on any working day from 9 am to 5 pm (except Saturday and Sunday, as per Punjab Government guidelines, on every Friday, there is lockdown after 5 PM and complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday. So anyone who is planning to visit campus on Friday should keep these timings in mind. Generally, it takes 2 hours to complete the admission process, 1 hour for walk-in counselling and campus visit). 20: What if I don’t meet the eligibility conditions specified by the university? What will happen to my candidature?
Answer: LPU offers more than 150+ different programmes in 40+ disciplines and you can transfer to a program that fulfils your eligibility conditions or you can apply for refund and you will get the refund as per the university refund policy. Read more about Refund
21: I made mistakes in my application. How will I be able to correct them?

22: What are the eligibility requirements for admission? Is LPUNEST a mandatory requirement for admission?
Answer: The eligibility criterion varies from programme to programme. You can visit university website for detailed information about the eligibility of any particular programme.
23: I am expecting to get around 60% marks. Will I get any scholarship?
Answer: You can still get scholarship on the basis of your performance in LPUNEST or on the basis of other scholarship schemes offered by University, for details visit Scholarship Schemes
24: If I take admission now without LPUNEST, do I need to qualify LPUNEST later?

25: What if I decide to withdraw admission later? What are the refund rules?
