1. Based on Performance in LPUNEST (Ph.D.)
Scholarships for Ph.D. programmes at LPU are awarded based on candidates’ performance in LPUNEST (Ph.D.). The category-wise cut-offs are announced along with the result schedule.
The scholarship amount (as a percentage of the programme fee) differs for full-time and part-time Ph.D. modes — with higher benefits offered to candidates who achieve better LPUNEST scores. The scholarship details are as per the following table:

Note:
- If a candidate fulfils the requirements of JRF (UGC/CSIR)/NET (LS)/SPM/GATE/GPAT within 1.5 years of registration in the Ph.D. programme, he/she shall be eligible for a scholarship on that basis from the immediate next term.
- The fee will be applicable till the submission of final thesis for the Ph.D. programme.
- The scholarship for the Ph.D. programme is applicable maximum of up to 4 Years from the date of admission.
- The research contingency for consumables will be available for a maximum period of 4 years from the date of admission.
- A 20% scholarship is applicable for all female candidates & LPU alumni (male/female), only when the candidate is not availing availing any other scholarship.
- Additional Fees:
- Examination Fee is applicable as per actuals.
- Thesis evaluation charges of ₹20,000/- shall be payable at the time of Ph.D. thesis submission only.
- CIF charges are applicable only if the services are used, and will be at subsidised rates.
- No laboratory/experimentation charges are applicable. If conducted separately for any candidate, charges will be as per actuals.
- No term evaluation charges are applicable. If conducted separately for any candidate, charges will be as per actuals.
- Applicants claiming Government/ministerial/institutional fellowship shall Must Ensure the following points:
- The applicant must report to the university for original document verification in time.
- The applicant must report for the linking process after admission and eligibility verification is confirmed.
- All original documents including Class 10, Class 12, Graduation, Post-Graduation, etc., are required for the linking process.
- Coursework Option 1 (Saturday–Sunday) shall be applicable to such applicants.
- Such applicants are required to adhere to the rules and regulations of the regulatory body to claim the fellowship.
- # Subject to verification of valid scorecard/award letter/research publication.
- ## South African and Australian granted patent will not be considered for scholarship.
- In case of any dubiety, the decision of the Head, Centre for Research Degree Programmes, shall be considered final.

Fee Details and Allied Issues:
- Examination fee (per semester) is ₹4,500, and the examination fee for the first semester is payable along with the fee of the second semester or earlier.
- Examination fee includes the fee for the evaluation of seminars/presentations/annual reports to be submitted/prepared by the candidates after every term (semester).
- Fee for successive semesters will be payable before the end of teaching of the preceding semester.
- Applicants may have to pay additional charges as decided by the University on account of:
- Thesis evaluation fee of ₹20,000, payable during the final thesis submission.
- Expenditure in excess of the amount approved by DDB or provided by the sponsoring agency for carrying out instrumentation, lab/experimentation/workshops/seminars/training/surveys/internships/projects, etc.
- Programme Fee definition:
- The term ‘programme fee’ as mentioned above includes: tuition and development fees; University fee for registration/enrolment, cultural, sports, club activities, co-curricular activities, etc.; fee for additional services/facilities for research contingency, outreach, placement, medical, counsellor, etc., as prescribed by the University.
- The examination fee and programme fee as mentioned above shall be paid for all terms (semesters) till the final Ph.D. submission.
- For fee other than programme fee, please refer to the head ‘Fee for Additional Services/Facilities’ of ‘General Guidelines for Admissions’ in Part C of the Prospectus.
- ‘Terms and Conditions for LPU-Scholarship and its different phases’ as mentioned in Part B of the Prospectus must be referred.
- Semester fee is to be paid by research scholars as per schedule/announcements; otherwise, the research scholar may get de-registered from the programme.
- If the fee of the programme is reduced due to any reason, scholarship amount for all the brackets/categories will be reduced proportionately; i.e., the fee after scholarship will not be reduced and will remain the same.
- For aggregate marks in the qualifying exam, refer to clause ‘Eligibility’ under General Guidelines for Admissions, etc., in Part C of the Prospectus.
- Scholarship for the Ph.D. programme is applicable for a maximum of up to 4 years from the date of admission.
- The contingency for consumables will be available for a maximum period of 4 years from the date of admission.
