    Define the problem, who is affected, why it matters, supporting statistics, market or social opportunity.

  3. Existing Solutions & Gap Analysis

    Current methods/products, limitations, pain points and the unmet need your solution addresses.

  4. Our Solution

    Explain your idea clearly. Show the workflow, system architecture, user journey or process diagram. Highlight the value proposition.

  5. Technology & Innovation

    Technologies used (AI/ML, IoT, Robotics, Blockchain, Sensors, APIs, etc.), architecture, why these technologies are the best fit and what makes your approach innovative.

  6. Prototype / MVP / Demonstration

    Screenshots, hardware prototype, wireframes, videos, testing results or proof-of-concept. Demonstrate functionality instead of just explaining it.

    Primary users, customer segments, real-world scenarios, estimated audience size and user benefits.

    Quantify expected benefits, time saved, cost reduction, environmental impact, lives improved, efficiency gained, SDG alignment, measurable outcomes.

    Revenue model (if applicable), deployment strategy, implementation roadmap, partnerships, cost estimates and sustainability plan.

FAQs

Is there any registration fee, participation fee or hidden charge at any stage of the competition?
No. Bharat Innovation Challenge is completely free. There are no registration, participation or hidden charges for students, mentors or schools at any stage of the competition.
Do we need coding knowledge, technical skills or a working prototype to participate in Stage 1?
No. Students from all backgrounds can participate. Stage 1 accepts ideas, wireframes, mockups, sketches and concept presentations. A working prototype is encouraged but not mandatory.
Why should students participate in Bharat Innovation Challenge? What makes it different from other competitions?
BIC is more than a competition. Students build real solutions, pitch before industry experts, showcase prototypes and compete for ₹16L+ across 29 award categories on a national platform.
Besides prize money, what opportunities can students expect from Bharat Innovation Challenge?
Beyond prizes, students gain mentorship, networking, media exposure and internship opportunities. Outstanding teams may also receive direct interest from industry leaders and investors.
What facilities are provided by LPU and what should finalists bring?
LPU provides accommodation, meals and local transportation, while finalists must bring their working prototype, refined pitch deck and display materials for the Expo.
How many students can be in a team and can students from different schools participate together?
Students of Classes 8–12 (13–18 years) from any Indian school board can participate. Teams can have 1–5 students and one mentor. Cross-school teams are welcome.
Will we receive certificates, awards or recognition for participating in Bharat Innovation Challenge?
Yes. Mentors, finalists and winners receive official recognition based on their journey in the competition. Finalists also gain national exposure through the Innovation Expo and Grand Finale.
How are ideas evaluated, who are the jury members and what factors determine the winners?
Projects are evaluated by founders, investors, corporate leaders and academicians based on innovation, feasibility, impact, presentation quality, execution and future potential.
