Confidential and Free Professional Counselling:

University offer CONFIDENTIAL and FREE professional Counselling and psychological support to all students, faculty, and staff members. Our dedicated team of experienced psychologists uses a wide range of therapeutic approaches to provide a supportive environment for emotional and psychological well-being.

The Counselling and Happiness Cell offers several key services:

  • The Department of Counselling and Happiness offers free and confidential Counselling services to the LPU community.
  • Individual Counselling encompasses support for individuals facing challenges such as stress management, anxiety, interpersonal conflicts, self-esteem issues, and academic or professional struggles.
  • We provide a safe and confidential space for individuals to express their concerns freely and develop coping strategies tailored to their unique needs. Additionally, our psychologists offer guidance on lifestyle changes, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness practices to promote overall health and resilience.
  • Consultation with family and parents is also available if the students ask for.
  • The client can book an appointment in advance through the University Management System (UMS) or walk- in/ visit the Department directly in Building 8, Room 208 for a Counselling session.

Confidential Individual Counselling

Conducted in a private and confidential setting in Block 8, Room 208, these one-on-one sessions with qualified mental health professionals allow students and staff to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Through evidence-based techniques, counselors help students build coping skills, manage stress, and enhance their resilience, promoting healing, growth, and personal empowerment.

The department provides psychological testing services for the LPU community including students and staff, including assessments for aptitude, interests, IQ, and behavioral traits. These tests are valuable tools for students making informed decisions about their academic and career paths.

Sister BK Shivani inaugurated Meditation Centre at LPU “Brahma Kumari Shivani (Sister BK Shivani)” visited Lovely Professional University (LPU), where she inaugurated a ‘Meditation Centre’ at LPU for the Department of Counseling & Happiness of the university. The center is to guide many thousands of students and staff members at LPU Campus. On this occasion, she was accompanied by Chancellor of the university Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal and Pro Chancellor Mrs. Rashmi Mittal, who also bestowed a memento of recognition to her. Meditation Centre at LPU Located in Block 8, Room 208, the Meditation Centre offers a tranquil space for students and faculty/staff to cultivate inner peace, enhance self-awareness, and improve overall well-being through meditation practices.

Concentration & Memory Lab for Psycho Neurobics

Enhancing Wellness at Psycho Neurobics Lab.
This specialized facility “Psycho- Neurobics” laocated in Block 8, Room 208 focuses on the mind-body connection to promote holistic mental health and well-being. Psycho- Neurobics is a practical science to enhances concentration power, positivity in life, and healing for physical impairments. It allows one to understand the concept of the mind and body and helps in maintaining mind-body equilibrium.
LPU has a fully functional Concentration & Memory Lab to:
  • Improving attention, concentration, and focus of mind.
  • Enhancing control over one’s own emotions and a better understanding of others’ emotions.
  • Enhancing memory and recollection power thereby enhancing job performance and academic performance.
  • Releasing stress, anxiety and restoring peace of mind.

The Nutrition & Wellness Corner

The Nutrition & Wellness Corner provides expert guidance on balanced nutrition, meal planning, and healthy lifestyle choices to support overall well-being. Daily sessions offer personalized consultations on dietary habits, nutritional deficiencies, weight management, and holistic wellness. The focus is on helping individuals make informed food choices to enhance both physical and mental health.

The Counseling & Happiness Cell has been actively engaged in creating a supportive environment within the university. The department has conducted a total of 115 activities, which have been instrumental in reaching out to a wide audience. These activities have successfully covered 6,688 participants, making a significant impact on the community's well-being. Moreover, the department has provided personalized counseling to 5,153 clients, offering them the guidance and support needed to navigate their individual challenges. Each session is tailored to address the specific concerns of the clients, ensuring that they receive the most appropriate care and advice.

YourDOST- online mental health and emotional wellness platform

YourDOST- online mental health and emotional wellness platform

LPU has collaborated with YourDOST an online mental counseling service to provide counseling services to the LPU community 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year completely free of charge. LPU community can easily access this service through their UMS portal to have a chat, audio, or video session with a Psychologist throughout the day and night. LPU community can access YourDOST services from their UMS Dashboard.
