Lovely Professional University (LPU) continues to advance its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), with Project PROSPER 2024 reaffirming its focus on SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through equitable employment, fair compensation, enhanced productivity, and sustained innovation. Building on the foundation of Project SUSTAIN 2023, which emphasized sustainability, a high-performance culture, and inclusion, the new initiative expands its scope to structured employment practices, pay-equity measures, employee welfare, professional development, and improved student employability. Through this project, LPU strives to cultivate a work culture that values all stakeholders—employees, students, contractual staff, and community partners—ensuring that institutional economic growth results in holistic well-being. Aligned with India’s vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047” and the SDG India Index led by NITI Aayog, LPU translates global sustainability principles into actionable policies, contributing meaningfully to national goals of decent employment and inclusive growth. LPU offers comprehensive staff welfare and student support frameworks, encompassing extensive residential facilities, childcare centers, and the Uni-Center shopping complex, all designed to support a well-rounded campus life, flexible work arrangements, reward and recognition practices, measures for physical and psychological wellbeing.
LPU promotes inclusivity through its universal employment and high-performance culture, emphasizing gender, regional diversity, and merit-based recruitment practices. In support of lifelong learning, In the year 2023-24 Human Resource Development Center conducted 172 Professional Development Programs benefiting 9880 faculty, staff, students and external participants strengthening continuous learning and leadership development. Additionally, initiatives like "Earn as You Learn" empower students through practical work experiences, while LPU’s entrepreneurship programs offer incubation and mentorship for aspiring innovators. With significant investment in research funding, scholarships, and financial aid, LPU not only drives academic excellence but also uplifts underprivileged sections, making quality education accessible to all. These efforts collectively underscore the university’s unwavering commitment to fostering decent work and economic growth, as envisioned by SDG 8.
Through the comprehensive initiative of promoting sustainability in everything we do, we have been able to achieve certain milestones:
- LPU implements a transparent, merit-based Performance-Linked Compensation system that rewards excellence through structured appraisals, clear KPIs, and regular feedback. In 2023–24, the university disbursed approximately ₹2.5 crore as performance incentives, recognizing exceptional contributions across academics, research, administration, and community service.
- LPU has secured substantial research grants from both Government and Non-Government agencies, driving impactful innovation and development. The exhibit highlights a remarkable 77% rise in research funding from 2022–23 to 2023–24, underscoring the university’s strong commitment to research and academic excellence.
- LPU student contingent participated and brought laurels to India in Paris Olympics 2024 and Paralympics 2024.
- LPU delegates in USU Syllabus Training Program as a part of ERASMUS+ program
- LPU’s global research stature strengthened as 34 faculty members were featured in Stanford University’s 2024 list of the world’s top 2% scientists—a 54% increase from last year. This recognition highlights the university’s growing impact and excellence in high-quality research.
- LPU celebrated its 19th Foundation Day on 5 September 2024 by awarding nearly ₹3 crores to 134 outstanding teachers, researchers, and administrators for their academic contributions. Recognitions were based on publications in reputed Scopus/WoS journals, granted patents, and indexed book chapters.
- LPU students actively contributed to society in 2023–24 through NSS and NCC initiatives, including village adoption, health camps, literacy drives, farmer awareness, computer training, and surplus-food distribution. For their impactful service, 47 students were honoured with community service awards at the 15th Achievers Award Ceremony.
- LPU celebrated 23 years with Sanidhya 2024, a three-day event themed “Who can bring the change? – You,” attended by over 5,500 staff and faculty. The university honoured 584 employees with SANIDHYA Association Awards, recognizing 5 to 20 years of dedicated service.
- In 2023–24, over 1,700 LPU students secured salary packages ranging from ₹10 LPA to ₹2.5 crore, highlighted by ECE students Sri Vishnu and Betireddy Naga Vamsi Reddy receiving ₹2.5 crore and ₹1.03 crore offers, showcasing LPU’s strong career outcomes.
- Numerous staff engagement activities to celebrate personal and professional achievements.
