What you'll learn

Business pitching is among the most consequential applied communication skills in contemporary professional life. Yet LPU students consistently demonstrate gaps in pitch structure, delivery confidence, financial narration, and investor Q&A management. This course directly addresses those deficiencies through a structured 30-session, 30-hour experiential programme. The course follows a progressive skill-build architecture — moving from conceptual foundations and content development through delivery mastery, Q&A competence, and context-specific adaptation, culminating in a Capstone Pitch Day evaluated by an external industry panel.

  • Purpose: Build conceptual scaffolding. Students understand what a pitch is, why structure matters, who the audience is, and what psychological triggers drive investor decisions. By the end of Module 1, every student submits a personal pitch story arc — the narrative backbone they refine across subsequent modules.
  • Purpose: Develop the substance of the pitch slide-by-slide. Covers market sizing, solution articulation, business model, competitive positioning, financial projection credibility, team framing, and traction. Heavy use of frameworks: Value Proposition Canvas, Business Model Canvas (BMC), TAM/SAM/SOM analysis.
  • Purpose: Transform content-capable students into confident presenters. Dedicated sessions address voice, body language, slide design, and opening hooks. Mid-course mock pitch at Session 18 provides a formal summative checkpoint before advanced content.
  • Purpose: Equip students to handle the most unpredictable — and career-defining — part of any pitch: the Q&A round. Includes hostile question handling, bridging techniques, and a guest expert session on financial and legal due-diligence questions.
  • Purpose: Recognise that a pitch to a Tier-1 VC differs significantly from one to a bank, a B-plan competition jury, or a corporate sponsor. Students practice adaptation across all four contexts, including a dedicated session on digital and asynchronous pitching for remote-first environments.
  • Purpose: Synthesise all learning into a final investor-ready pitch. Students build, rehearse, receive panel feedback, and deliver their Capstone Pitch before an external evaluator using the Business Pitch Rating Scale (BPRS) — the course's primary summative instrument.
