FIJI - International Event

LPU Folk Dance Club Students got selected as member of cultural delegation sponsored by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India. Our stars performed on an International level in FIJI from January 23rd to February 7th, 2019.

The Largest Bhangra Dance was accomplished successfully on 1st November, 2018 at LPU campus. 4,441 participants officially set a Guinness World Record

Paschim Malhar 2017

LPU hosted Paschim Malhar 2017 Cultural Meet – Western Command Board, organized by Jalandhar Cantonment Board. About 22 Cantonment Board schools participated in this event and exhibited their rich cultural diversity starting with Ganesh Vandna and included various other performances like Yoga, Dance, Solo Dance and, Instrumental Music.

8th De Novo National Group Art Exhibition

Art is not what you see but what you make others see. Department of Cultural Affairs organized "8th De Novo National Group Art Exhibition" under the aegis of Division of Student Welfare in association with external national level artist group "De Novo".

AIU’s Inter University National Qawwali Competition

AIU’s Inter University National Qawwali Competition organized under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The event, named ‘Afreen-Bazm-E-Qawwali’, carried the theme of ‘National Integration and Communal Harmony’. LPU won AIU’s First Inter University National Qawwali Competition, hosted by LPU.

Uzbekistan-India Friendship Cultural Heritage shared at LPU

Under an international music voyage to promote cultural exchanges and people to people relations between Uzbekistan and India, Uzbek family music group ‘Havas’ with their talent and energetic performances based on Indian music enthralled everybody in the hall.

32nd AIU Inter Universities National Level Youth Festival 2016-17

LPU stood 4th among the 70 participating universities, at the 33rd AIU Inter-University National Level Youth Festival, held at Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The mega event was sponsored by Ministry of Youth Welfare & Sports, Government of India. Our students participated enthusiastically in the categories including Music, Dance, Fine Arts, Theater and Literary.

With 3 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals, LPU team beat the competition from Universities all over India to snatch the most coveted trophy. Catch a glimse of the famous "Jhomer" dance sequence.

Global Female Folk Dance Competition

An international event organized by Ministry of Culture (Government of India) hosted at LPU, where teams from 10 countries performed. LPU secured runners up trophy for 3 successive years.

Folk Dance Team Selected in Indian Contingent to represent India at Oman for Muscat Festival

LPU students got ICCR - Indian Council for Cultural Relations - Ministry of External Affairs (Government of India) sponsorship to represent India and Indian culture at Muscat Festival in Oman.

One of university’s mega events - this year's theme was 'Itihaas ke panno se‘. Students showcased their state traditions and regional dances. Nagaland bagged 2016's overall champions trophy.

Dance Society

Instructing students to express a story with dance. Students learn classical, western and regional dance forms from experts and maestros.

Music Society

The music society makes university come alive every evening through there musical events and concerts. Society has many clubs where students can learn FOLK LORE, INDIAN INSTRUMENTAL & VOCAL, WESTERN INSTRUMENTAL & VOCAL.

Literary Society

This society caters to students who are interested in writing poetry and prose. The society conducts various workshops as well as competitions in order to groom budding authors.

Fine Arts

University students join this society to learn conceptual, sculpture and paint arts. Their work finds its way on university walls and adds to the aesthetic beauty.

Theatre

This Club provides students with the opportunities to participate not only in University plays, dramas, mime, mimicry, skits, etc; but also to compete against the universities on state and national levels.
