Student will understand various types of industrial production systems and their automation. 2. Student will identify different components used in the industry for automation. 3. Student will list various kinds of modern industrial automation techniques and tools for futuristic manufacturing plants 4. Student will classify sensors and actuators for different industrial applications. 5. Student will simulate a program for PLC based system for use cases in industries.

  • Types: Proximity, temperature, optical, ultrasonic, etc. Characteristics and applications
  • Amplification, filtering, A/D conversion
  • PLC Fundamentals Architecture, I/O modules, memory, scan cycle PLC Programming (Basics) Ladder logic, timers, counters, logic gates
  • Sensor–PLC Interfacing Digital & analog inputs, wiring, scaling
  • Applications & Projects Industrial case studies, mini-projects (e.g. bottle filling, motor control)
