This is a comprehensive course designed to transform the Excel and Power BI skills of participants from basic to advanced levels with the power of AI integration. The course equips participants with the ability to analyse big data sets, automate tasks with intelligent functions, and unlock the full potential of Excel and Power BI for both personal and professional use. By the end of the course, participants will proficiency in Data Analysis, Data Visualization and Dashboard Designing. Learning Outcome: The focus of this Course is to enhance the skill set of participants on areas like: 1. Handling and analyzing various kinds of data (including big data). 2. Converting data into impactful Charts and Graphs. 3. Creating interactive Dashboards.

  • Introduction and General Utility Functions: Filters, Advance Filters, Sorting, Freeze Panes, Duplicates, Paste Special, Text to Column, Conditional Formatting. Text and Logical Functions: Sum, Count and Average functions (including IF and IFs), Left, Right, Trim, Upper, Lower, Proper, Min, Max, Large, Small, Concatenate, Text to Column, Text join, Date, Time, Month, Year, Round off, Random, Unique, Relative and Absolute References, Cell Linking and Cell Freezing, IF Statement, Nested if, If error etc, Logical Functions using AI tools.
  • Charts and Graphs: Gantt Chart, Pie Chart, Line chart, Area Chart, Bar Graph, Stacked Bar chart, Heatmap, Treemap, Spider Chart, Combo Chart, Donut Chart etc. Data Validation, Lookup (Lookup, Hlookup, Xlookup); Whatif Analysis: Goal Seek, Data Table and Scenario Analysis. Pivot Tables: Data Analysis and summarization, Filters in Pivot Table, Grouping of Data, Sorting, Calculations, Aggregate Functions, Pivot Charts and Power Pivot Dashboards Building in Excel: Fundamentals, designing and interactivity through slicers. Introduction to Macros and Recording of Macros.
  • Introduction to Tableau: Interface, Environment, Cards, Shelfs, Marks, Data Connections, Extracts and Live Connections, Cross Database Joins and Union. Visualizations: Word Cloud, Time & Motion Chart, Dual Axis Chart, Maps, Map Options, Tree Map, Heat Map, Area Chart, Pie Chart, Field Map, Stacked Bar, Donut Chart, Scatter Plot, Constant, Reference and Drop, Line Chart, Cross Tabulation etc.
  • Forecasting, Trend Analysis, Bin Creation, Group Creations, Text Filets, Number Filets, Date Filters, Drill Down Functionality and Hierarchies, Quick Table Calculations, Logical Calculations (Number, Date etc), IF Condition, Nested IF, Parameters Creation and Control. Dashboard Creation and Storytelling: Fundamentals, Design, Web Integrity, Interactivity.
  • Introduction to Power BI: Interface, Environment, Data Connections, Data Types, Aggregation, and Data Transformation. Design Fundamentals and Visualizations: Bar and Column Chart, Stacked and Clustered Bar/ Column Chart, Combo Charts, Pie Chart, Donut Chart, Gauge Chart, Tree Map, Line Chart, Area Chart, Funnel Chart, Scatter Plot, Decomposition Tree, Filed Map, Symbol Map, and Other Advanced Charts like Infographics, Word Cloud, Scroller, Animated Bar Chart etc. Cross Tabulation: Tables and Matrix, Text and Number Filters, Filters on Visuals and page, Slicers, Cards, Hierarchies and Drilldown.
  • Data Blending: Working with multiple databases. Power Query (Get & Transform): Import, Transform, Clean, Combine data and files. DAX Functions: New Measure Vs New Column, Number base calculation, Text based Calculations, Date base Calculation, Logic Based Calculation (IF Condition and Nested IF) and Bin Creation. Forecasting, Trend Analysis, Reference and Average Lines. Dashboard: Fundamentals, Design and Interactivity Publishing Report: Power BI Cloud Services.

Dr. Harpreet Singh Bedi is a Professor at the Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University, with over 2 decades of teaching experience. He holds a Gold Medal in MBA and has received the Academic Honour Award in PGDBM, along with a distinction in M. Com. Dr. Bedi is a certified professional in Microsoft Excel (by Microsoft) and Financial Modelling (by NSE, India). He specializes in Data Analysis and Data Visualization – Tableau and Power BI. He regularly conducts Executive Development Programs (EDPs) and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) for various organizations and educational institutions.
