Lovely Professional University is pleased to announce a transformative Educational Reform to boost student-centric learning across all its disciplines, EDU-REVOLUTION. This educational reform enables students to design their own learning and evaluation strategies for all courses of their discipline. Every student can participate in the Edu-Revolution initiative for their courses through the flagship ERP application of the University called, LPUTouch. In this application, an intuitive and efficient angular and .NET-based module is designed for students to customize their learning plan throughout the semester, perform the various activities chosen by them under Edu-Revolution and submit their outcomes in the same module for obtaining a rich repertoire of academic benefits.
While designing their own learning, students are automatically provided with a list of courses from their curriculum, along with a pre-filled list of activities meticulously crafted by brainstorming over the curriculum development and review by a team of over 1500 teaching members. Students can plan their academic activities through the Edu-Revolution module well in-advance, and diligently work towards attainment of the various course outcomes to earn academic credits and benefits. Following is a list of academic activities available through the Edu-Revolution Module.
- Prior learning of the course before the beginning of the term, through trainings and certifications
- Pursuing innovative projects leading to AI-based Apps/Patents/Copyrights/ Publication/Industry funding/Government sponsorships,
- Online certifications/MOOCs related to their courses from prestigious platforms like Swayam, NPTEL, Coursera, etc.
- Winning/participating in hackathons
- Establishing entrepreneurial ventures
- Qualifying prestigious entrance examinations like GATE, CSIR-NET, UGC-NET, CAT, MAT, etc.
- Pursuing industry consultancy projects
- Pursuing social impact/service projects
This reform has been designed to cater to the personalization of learning for 35000+ students of all disciplines in the university.
Step 1: On the LPUTouch Landing Page, the students select the Edu Revolution Icon (click to open)
Step 2: On the Edu Revolution module Landing Page, students select the core/ non-core course in which they wish to apply.
Step 3: On selecting the type of course, the module goes through the student’s curriculum and presents them with the list of courses registered by them. Students must click on the “Apply Now” button to proceed with customizing their learning strategy and plan.
Step 4: For the course opted by the students, a new window is displayed in which the categories of Edu Revolution activities are made available. Students may click on only one type of activity at a time.
Step 5: Based on the category of activity selected by the students, a detailed list of activities is made available to the students. This list is crafted by the expert teaching staff member for each course. Students must select at least one option to submit their plan of activities for learning the course.
Once the students select the desired option, they must execute their plan and submit the details on the same interface. The certificates are vetted by a standing committee and through an integrated system connecting the Edu-Revolution interface, course registration database and the evaluation portal, the benefits are granted to the student. Through the Edu-Revolution interface, till-date, more than 10,000 students have been granted academic benefits under various activities.
