Student Centric Comprehensive Academic Support

Division of Student Relationship (DSR) is a dedicated team of senior faculty members who are responsible for creating innovative and evolving strategies which can boost students’ academic success at the University. The onset of COVID-19 brought with itself a chaotic situation in the field of higher education and thus threatening to erode whatever the students had achieved though years of academic hard work. During these uncertain times, DSR proactively rolled out an inclusive framework for the students to ensure that they remain well connected with the University, mentally and emotionally, despite the fact the pandemic of COVID-19 forced everyone to stay at their respective places all the time. The role of DSR in proving academic support to students and imbibing in them a sense of confidence to share the matters troubling them becomes highly challenging given the context that an entire batch of students who took admissions to the University never got a chance to physically visit it because of the prevailing pandemic restrictions. Elaborated here under, Relationship Management System (RMS) and Mentorship program are categorically the hallmarks of DSR achievements in creating student centric ecosystem :

  • Relationship Management System (RMS): This is a web enabled service portal for students to raise academic and non-academic concerns with competent authorities through DSR in the form of   queries/suggestions/requests/feedback. This platform is developed as an endeavor to provide timely response to all the above-mentioned concerns. Some of unique features of this mechanism include:
    • A unique tracking number is generated with each RMS submitted and can be tracked if needed.
    • This is two way communication channel and duly recorded for reference whenever required.
    •  Students have an option to rate the response received from the official.
    •  In case of poor rating, the RMS escalates automatically to higher officials for verification.
    • Students have extensively used this facility to report and request various academic and related matters to the competent authorities.
  • Mentorship Model: Apart from academic leadership in the classrooms, the role of the faculty also includes supporting and mentoring the students to take informed and ethical decisions in their life. Mentoring is a strategy to provide students with emotional and instrumental support they need to achieve learning goals. The objective of this is to
    • To help students adjust academically at the University.
    • To build a trustworthy and accountable relationship between faculty and the students.
    •  To focus and motivate students to achieve learning goals and thereby improve their academic performance.
    •  To generate interest in academics and other institutional activities amongst students.
    • To provide time to time counseling at various stages of student life
    •  The meeting between the mentor and mentee is discrete and the mentor is required to record the minutes in a dedicated mentorship interface.
    •  If the need be, the mentor can also get in touch with parents/guardians to bring the best out of the students in terms of his personal and academic welfare.
