Vasudev Kutumbakam: The World is one family

During this time of Pandemic, when everyone was affected physically, economically or psychologically and was worried about their own family, students and faculty of Performing Arts, LPU in collaboration with students and faculty of Film Production, LPU planned an innovative project ‘Vasudev Kutumbakam: The world is one Family’ the Instrumental version of Indian National Anthem in slow and soothing tempo, dedicated to all the Bharat Ratna awardees, who devoted all their life to the Service of Mankind. The idea was to gently infuse the feeling of being together in the tough times and of helping those in pain across world to uphold the Indian Ethic of Service to Mankind.This project is an attempt to combine different Indian instruments like Santoor, Sitar, Dilruba, Flute, Sarangi, Tabla etc. to express the feeling of patriotism. The tabla playing is in the form of tabla tarang is used to make tune from a combination of different tablas. The video is dedicated to all the Bharat Ratna awardees by showcasing their pictures during the national anthem and a list in the end. This project attempts to rejuvenate Indian music fusion, which was termed as Kutupa in ancient music, using string, percussion and wind instruments of Indian music.
