Lovely Professional University's National Service Scheme (LPU-NSS) organized a charitable drive aimed at providing essential items to the needy. The initiative encompassed a wide range of items, including clothes, footwear, bags, blankets, and toys for children, all generously contributed by LPU-NSS volunteers. The primary objective of the drive was to extend a helping hand to vulnerable communities and individuals experiencing economic hardships, reinforcing the spirit of compassion and solidarity within the organization.
Through this philanthropic endeavor, LPU-NSS demonstrated its unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Witnessing the recipients' happiness, spanning all age groups, during the distribution was truly heartwarming, further emphasizing the significance of such initiatives in uplifting communities and fostering a sense of belonging and care.
The charitable drive aligned perfectly with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
(No Poverty), SDG 3(Good Health and Well-being) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Mission Punjab &Delhi Rain Relief Aid 25th June, 2023
In response to the impact of heavy rains in Punjab and Delhi, Student Organization Tachyons, in collaboration with LPU NSS Unit- Srijan and Shankuntala Poddar Welfare Foundation NGO, organized a Rain Relief Aid Initiative. Aimed to provide immediate relief to individuals and families affected by heavy rains in Punjab and Delhi, collaborating with local communities and NGOs for a coordinated response, and demonstrating solidarity and compassion by offering Rain Relief Aid to those in need. A dedicated group of 75 volunteers actively participated in the “Mission Punjab & Delhi Rain Relief Aid”


Joy of Giving – 18-Jan-2023
On the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti, LPU organized The Joy of Giving event, spreading smiles as people of all ages received clothes, bags, blankets, and toys, benefiting around 350 individuals. This initiative celebrates the true joy of giving at LPU, highlighting the profound impact of generosity. The organizers extend gratitude and hope for ongoing support from all heads and staff members in future philanthropic endeavors.
Joy of giving-Donation Drive on 28th April, 2023
Student Organization Gravity organized a Joy of giving-Donation Drive, with a special focus on giving back to the community. The event involved a visit to a Primary School Government Primary School, Nanak Nagri, Phagwara where students engaged in the distribution of gifts and stationery to the children. A dedicated group of 151 volunteers had actively participated in managing the students at school, management of material and sharing it with students with full care.

“Joy of Giving” 16-june-2023
A drive to distribute clothes, footwears, blankets, and other essentials amongst the needy ones, and it was organized by LPU-NSS in seven days special summer camp.
Contributions were made by LPU-NSS volunteers in the form of clothes, footwears, bags, blankets and toys for kids, it was delight to see the happiness on the face of the receivers from all age groups.



LPU-NSS, under the aegis of the Division of Student Welfare, LPU, organized a Joy of Giving drive on 27th November 2021 in the slum area near Phagwara Bypass, Punjab, India where the Volunteers of LPU-NSS has distributed clothes and shoes among the slum people.

If the joy of receiving is the best feeling, then the joy of gifting is a superlative feeling. Serving the people in need is not only our responsibility but also the proof of humanity in us. With this aim, lovely professional university has organizes various "Joy of Giving" camps and donated Mattress, Pillows, Buckets, Mugs, blankets, food ,clothing, shoes, slippers, school bags, stationary, utensils etc. LPU-NSS team went to the various slum areas and gave clothes and blankets to the residents.




LPU’s NSS volunteer donated around 500 hundred blankets under the initiative “Spread the Warmth” to the needy during winters and made the entire LPU family very proud.
Aiming to encourage spinal cord injured persons lead an inclusive life, Lovely Professional University and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Association joined hands to observe ‘Joy of Giving’ Day at LPU Campus. Many SCI affected persons, their family members, hundreds of NSS volunteers at LPU and Spinal Cord injury affected students studying on 100% scholarship at LPU participated actively in the event. On this occasion Wheel Chairs were distributed to the needy SCI affected persons.
LPU in collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK donated 14 laptops to 4 NGOs namely Spinal Cord Injury Association, Aagaz, Saksham, and Gyandeep Teaching Project. Both the universities together made this benevolent gesture feels extremely happy to be a part of this project.


LPU celebrated the Bade Dil Wale week in which various events were organized. LPU-NSS volunteers distributed Diyas in slums across PAN India to lighten up their houses on Diwali and bring a smile to their faces. Locations were Hansi, Haryana, Pathankot, Punjab, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Telangana, Una, Himachal Pradesh, Meerut, and Uttar Pradesh.



Truly giving from the heart fills your life with joy and nourishes your soul. Giving provides an intrinsic reward that’s far more valuable than the gift. With this objective LPU started “Joy of Giving’- School Bag Distribution in which NSS Volunteers distributed school bags and copies in various schools of their adopted villages along with this there was a pediatric learning session in which students who were having difficulties in learning were told about the proper method so that they can improve their learning skills.



Paper bags degrade when they mistakenly end up in nature. When using natural water-based colours and starch-based adhesives, paper bags do not harm the environment. With this aim LPU-NSS volunteers took the initiative to make people aware about the fact that” plastic bags are one of the most problematic of garbage “for the environment, they also distributed handmade paper bags made from, newspapers in more than 20 states of India. These paper bags were distributed among the shop as well as street vendors.



The project ‘Joy of Giving’ complies with SDG-1 (End poverty in all its forms everywhere), SDG-4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all), SDG-3 (Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages), SDG- 10 (Reduce inequality within and among countries) and SDG-13(Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts).
