The School of Allied Medical Sciences offers comprehensive programs in Medical Laboratory Sciences and Physiotherapy, designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required for successful careers in healthcare. The discipline follows a practice-based approach to train budding practitioners in catering to patient’s needs. State-of-the-art infrastructure, labs and, up-to-date machinery aid the students in getting a hands-on learning experience for diagnosis and non-pharmacological treatment of patients.

The Physiotherapy Department at School of Allied Medical Sciences offers a robust, practice-oriented Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Master of Physiotherapy (MPT), and PhD in Physiotherapy Programme supported by modern infrastructure and strong industry engagement. The curriculum is designed with an integrated, interdisciplinary, patient-centred, self-directed learning approach, helping students to bridge theoretical foundations with real-world clinical scenarios. The department boasts well-equipped labs, including a Movement Science Lab for biomechanics, an Electrotherapy Lab for hands-on training in therapeutic modalities, and a Spirit Project Lab where students hone practical skills such as wheelchair training, focusing on holistic rehabilitation and mental wellness. On the clinical side, students gain diverse exposure through multiple Physiotherapy OPDs, including those on the LPU campus. Beyond academics and clinical training, the department also emphasizes community engagement and social responsibility. It runs free physiotherapy camps in nearby rural areas and villages (such as Chehru, Jandu Singha, Hardaspur) to promote awareness of physiotherapy benefits and provide rehabilitative services to underserved populations. It is overall characterized by its blend of modern infrastructure, practical learning pedagogy, strong clinical exposure, and community service initiatives, with a clear focus on producing industry-ready, ethically grounded, and socially responsible physiotherapy professionals.
