Computers are a common convenience nowadays, and most of us can’t even imagine living without them. But to a large part of our country’s rural population computers are still an unfathomable mystery. To bridge this educational gap LPU has taken up the community service endeavor of the Computer Literacy Program under the “Gyan Deep Project”. It is an initiative to provide basic computer literacy to the school children/Villagers of nearby adopted villages, who don’t have access to any computer education. Under this program, LPU NSS teams of students and faculty impart free basic computer training to people of nearby villages both on the campus and off site.

LPU-NSS has a dedicated library on its campus for the needy students of adopted as well as the nearby village. Books keep on updating from time to time.
As a part of corporate social responsibility (CSR), Lovely Professional University organized summer camp for young kids. Through this program school children are being exposed to university environment with exciting sessions of valuable learning. Different activities included: verbal announcement, role play, confidence building, best made from waste, table-top designing, singing, dancing and more are performed.

The project ‘Gyandeep’ complies with SDG-1 (End poverty in all its forms everywhere), SDG-4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all) and SDG- 10 (Reduce inequality within and among countries).
