ADMISSIONS 2020 - FINANCIAL AND OTHER SUPPORT INITIATIVES

  • COVID-19 FRONTLINE Scholarship Scheme: LPU has introduced a Rs. 20 Crore support initiative named ‘COVID-19 FRONTLINE Scholarship’, to honor the selfless contribution of the Covid-19 frontline workforce (i.e. Doctors, Nurses, Paramedical staff, Civic staff, Police personnel and others as per categories listed) and support the survivors by offering scholarship for self and wards. Click here to know more.
  • Flexible and Easy Payment options for Admissions
    • Provisional admission by paying a  nominal fee of INR 10,000 in all programmes (except M.A (Hindi/Punjabi)).
    • To support students during these pressing times by extending the usual balance payment period of 10-15 days after the allotment of seat till 5th August 2020 in parts. In case the student still face any challenge, they can write to the university for further extensions at [email protected].
  • Higher Scholarship:
    • Augmenting support to deserving candidates, LPU has further expanded the scholarship bracket to even facilitate candidates scoring minimum of 70% marks in qualifying exam. Click here to check new scholarship brackets.
    • Scholarship will also be offered on the basis of qualification previous to eligibility qualification. For example, someone seeking admission in B.Tech can seek scholarship on the basis of 10+2 (Eligibility Qualification) or 10th (Qualification previous to 10+2)
  • Online Proctored test/interview from Home: LPU has also initiated the conduct of remotely proctored online LPUNEST (Eligibility Exam) from home and remote video Interviews for admission.
  • Easy and Convenient Refund Processing:
    The refund rules details are given below:
    • For students who took admission before 26th August 2020
      The amount deposited by the candidate will be refunded after deduction of INR 1000 only. However, if any candidate has also availed residential facility, then INR 500 will be deducted separately from that head as well. The programme wise refund dates are mentioned below:
      For All Programmes (except Post Graduate Agriculture and Ph.D. Programmes), candidate can apply for the refund on or before 15th August 2020, the above mentioned refund will be applicable.
      For Post Graduate Agriculture Programmes, candidate can apply for the refund on or before 15th July, 2020, the above mentioned refund will be applicable.
      For Ph.D. Programmes, candidate can apply for the refund on or before 31st August, 2020 the above mentioned refund will be applicable.

    • For students who will take admission from 26th August 2020

      For B.Tech., B.Tech (Lateral Entry), B.Arch., B.Pharm., Under Graduate Agriculture, Under Graduate Integrated Law and All Post Graduate Programmes, candidate can apply for the refund on or before 10th October, 2020, the above mentioned refund will be applicable.
      For All other Programmes including M.Pharm. Programmes, candidate can apply for the refund on or before 15th August, 2020 the above mentioned refund will be applicable.
      For Post Graduate Agriculture Programmes, candidate can apply for the refund on or before 15th July 2020 the above mentioned refund will be applicable.
      For Ph.D. Programmes, candidate can apply for the refund on or before 31st August, 2020 the above mentioned refund will be applicable.

  • Commencement of classes: In the interest of your safety and wellbeing, we are waiting for the government guidelines to start with the face-to-face classes. Meanwhile, to ensure that your precious time is not lost, we plan to start with live online classes:
    • For students who took admission on or before 6th September, 2020:  The Live online classes for the students who took admission on or before 6th September, 2020 starts from 1st week of August 2020 for all Programmes i.e. they will be accommodated  in August 2020 Batch.
    • For students who took admission from 7th September, 2020:  Considering the current situation, LPU has decided to start new batch in October 2020. The Live online classes for the students, who are taking admission from 7th September, 2020 will start at the end of 1st week of October 2020 and whole syllabus (from the beginning) will be covered for B.Tech (all streams), MBA , BBA, Integrated and Dual Degree BBA – MBA, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Programmes. Meanwhile, the student can attend the ongoing classes of August 2020 batch. The timetable of these classes will be visible to the student. Later, the student will be shifted to October batch only. For MBA with Talentedge Programme, live online classes for the students, who are currently taking admission will start by the end of 1st week of October 2020 i.e. they will be accommodated in new batch of October 2020 and there is no August Batch for this programme.

  • Proportionate Charges for residential Facilities: Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in delay of the commencement of classes in the physical mode resulting in shorter duration of stay in university residence and use of other residential facilities. The charges of residential facilities will be reduced proportionately, and students will be required to pay for the duration from the announced date of start of Physical classes till the announced date of end of academic Session including Examination. Click here to view more details.
