EDB and Phases of Fee/Scholarship for MBA Programme

EDB [On or before 31st May 2016]

  • To avail Early Decision Benefit for MBA Programmes applicant has to apply for LPUNEST-2016 before the EDB cut-off date i.e. 31st May, 2016. However to avoid last moment rush, applicants are advised to apply early.
  • Applicant must apply as per the above schedule and appear for exam as per preferred slot from 15th April to 31st May 2016.
  • The last date of Admission for EDB is 15th June, 2016.
  • After appearing for LPUNEST-2016 in EDB, applicant will come to know whether (or not)
    • He/she has ‘qualified LPUNEST-2016’ (i.e. scored more than the prescribed Cut-off marks as decided by University). Applicants qualifying LPUNEST will be eligible for EDB fee i.e. 2015 fee. Result regarding whether an applicant has qualified or not qualified LPUNEST-2016 will be declared one day after conduct of exam on university website (www.lpu.in).
    • He/she is among top 35% applicants’ appearing for LPUNEST-2016 (subject to qualifying LPUNEST-2016) in EDB. In fact separate list for top 10%, next 10% (11% - 20%) and next 15% (21% - 35%) will be announced. Result regarding whether an applicant is among top 35% applicants appearing for LPUNEST-2016 will be declared on 5th June 2016.
Applicants admitted under EDB Scheme will have the following advantages:
  • Fee of 2015: All those applicants who ‘qualify LPUNEST-2016’ (may or may not be among ‘top 35% applicants’ appearing for LPUNEST-2016) during EDB (i.e. on or before 31st May 2016) will be eligible for Admission with Fee of 2015 which is 10000/- (per annum) lesser than fee of 2016.
  • Scholarship on the basis of LPUNEST-2016: ‘Top 35% applicants’ appearing for LPUNEST (subject to qualifying LPUNEST-2016), will be eligible for Scholarship upto 1.5 Lac per annum as per the Following Table 1:

  • Multiple Options for Scholarship: All those applicants who ‘qualify LPUNEST-2016’ (may or may not be among ‘top 35% applicants’ appearing for LPUNEST-2016) may also avail Scholarship on the basis of Marks in Graduation/ 10+2 or performance in National Level Entrance Test as per the following Table 2:

    Marks between 80% and 89.99% marks (in Graduation/10+2)
    OR
    Category – III cut off Rank/Marks in National Level Entrance Tests*

    		 80,000 per annum

    Marks between 70% and 79.99% marks (in Graduation/10+2 )
    OR
    Category – IV cut off Rank/Marks in National Level Entrance Tests*

    		 60,000 per annum

  • It may happen that result of qualifying exam (i.e. graduation) is already declared before EDB cut-off date and applicant is eligible for Admission in MBA directly based on his marks in qualifying exam. Even such applicant has to appear for LPUNEST- 2016 as mentioned above, if he/she is interested to avail EDB i.e. EDB Fee and Scholarship.

Apart from the scholarship on the basis of LPUNEST-2016/ Qualifying Examination/On the basis of National Level Entrance Tests, LPU also offers scholarship schemes in the following areas to provide financial assistance to the excellent students to enable them to pursue professional education.

  • Scholarship on the basis of Performance in Cultural, R&D and Co-curricular activities
  • Scholarship on the basis of Performance in Social Services, Bravery

* To qualify (Pass) LPUNEST-2016, applicant must score equal to or more than 30% Marks.

Important Information

In case an applicant fails to produce the proof of fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria or any other document prescribed by the university or fails to provide original documents for verification by the stipulated date(s), he/she shall not be considered eligible for admission/ scholarship, in any case, if granted due to any reason shall be cancelled and the applicant shall have no claim, whatsoever against the university.
