Events Details

General Rules and Regulation:

  • Each school / institute can send multiple entries in each event.
  • The number of prizes for each event will be as per the following criteria:
    • Up to 6 teams – only consolation prizes would be given.
    • 7 - 10 teams – 1st and 2nd prize would be given.
    • More than 10 teams – 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize would be given.
    • More than 25 teams – Prizes to top 3 teams and 1(or 2) consolation prizes also.
  • For individual / solo events, team consists of 1 participant only.
  • Prizes will be awarded every day.
Students can compete with the sharpest and fastest minds to be called A Sci-Wizard. Only lightning fast responses and out of the box thinking can sail them through the competition. Team of three members are invited from all institutions. After preliminary round, five teams will be shortlisted for the finale.

Rules & Regulations: Science Wizard / Sci-Wizard

  • Only team entries are eligible.
  • Three students will form a team, they will appear for prelim test and will work on the same workstation (Computer).
  • Prelim will be an online test of general science knowledge having 10 questions with negative marking.
  • Time for prelim round will be 10 minutes only.
  • Top five teams will participate in the quiz.
  • Result of Prelim round would be announced at the stage and will be displayed at the registration/ reception desk also.
  • The Finale will have 4 rounds, namely
    • Round 1: Trivia Questions
    • Round 2: List It
    • Round 3: Audio/Video/Images based questions
    • Round 4: Rapid Fire
Students need to speak well in their personal lives, future workplaces and social interactions. Extempore is one such method which assists the students not only in thinking on their own but also in voicing their creative ideas with precision. Topic for extempore will be given on the spot.

Rules & Regulation: Science Extempore

  • This is a solo event.
  • Extempore can be said either as a prose or a poem or both but must not be in the form of a song.
  • A preparation time of 5 minutes shall be given to the contestants after the topic is provided.
  • Prelim round may be conducted. Time allowed for speaking in prelim round will be maximum 2 minutes or judges may stop in between also.
  • The minimum and the maximum time of speaking in final round shall be 2 minutes and 3 minutes respectively. There shall be disqualification in case you defy either of the two-time limits.
  • A warning bell shall ring at 2 minutes where after the contestants are required to wrap up their speech.
  • The contestants are required to speak only in English. Speaking a mixture of both English and any other language will lead to disqualification. However, contestants are allowed to use quotation/statement by some renowned personality in Hindi while delivering extempore in English.
  • No regional languages shall be permitted.
  • The contestants are required to speak strictly from the dais and should occupy the same throughout their speech.
  • Use of any foul language/gesture or any other unacceptable statement shall lead to disqualification.
  • Judgment will be based on Content, Presentation, Ease of switch, fluency and communication and point offered.
  • The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Young minds have no boundaries, they have provoking thoughts and innovative ideas which can give a new shape to the world. Students need to describe a new innovation or solution that could solve or impact an everyday problem related to the topic provided to the student on spot.

Poster Making Competition, is to bring out the creative expression of the students and also to gauge their awareness quotient. Theme will also be emailed to schools at their registered email Ids.
Themes for Science Gallery Poster are: Science and/or technology intersection with human / animal rights, E-Waste Management, Water Management for Future Sustainability, Future Public Transport System and Measures to tackle Air Pollution / Smog.

Rules & Regulation: Science Gallery

  • This is a solo event.
  • Poster must be on paper of A3 size (297 x 420 mm) or A2 size (420 x 594 mm).
  • Colour or black/white.
  • The completed artwork must be on a flat piece of paper and submitted on the day of the event.
  • The poster must not include words, national flags, or slogans.
  • The poster must not represent any particular individual, organization, or brand name and must not depict any religious theme.
  • Name and age of participant as well as school’s name and address must be clearly mentioned on the back of poster in the English Language.
  • Each school can submit up to Six posters.
  • All submitted posters to the competition may or may not be returned at the end of the day.
  • All submitted posters to the competition may or may not be put on display.
  • Results will be announced at the end of each day and the prize distribution will also be done at the end of same day. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Water Rocket is a rocket whose fuel for flight is obtained using water that is expelled at a large air pressure. It is an example of Newton’s third law of motion. Student’s will apply their understanding of Physics and build their water rockets. Student shall bring their water rockets on the day of event and the will compete with other rocket enthusiasts.

Rules & Regulation: Water Rocket

  • Only team entries are eligible. Max 3 participants.
  • The rocket and its components must be handmade. No readymade rocket is allowed.
  • The rocket body should be made only with plastic bottles of aerated soft drinks of maximum capacity 2.5L. More than one bottle can be used but the total volume must be less than 2.5L.
  • Each team MUST have their own launch pads.
  • The water rocket must use only compressed atmospheric air as its source of energy. Pressure compressors (foot pump) shall be provided at the venue.
  • Water to be filled in the rockets will be provided at the venue. Calculations regarding amount of water to be used is left to the choice of the team.
  • Two attempts will be given to each team and best of two will be taken into consideration.
  • The rocket must be launched from a stationary position using a fixed launch pad. In other words, the internal pressure of the rocket must be the only source of energy for the rocket.
  • Use of electronic components and chemical explosives is not allowed.
  • The point where the rocket hits the ground first will be taken as the point of landing and measurements will be taken considering this point.
  • Teams are advised to get more than one water rocket, in case of any damage to one. But the water rockets must be identical.
  • The participants are allowed to use variations of their water rockets in different rounds. However, only one design must be maintained throughout a single round.
  • The team will be disqualified if the model is found to be dangerous in anyway. Decision of the judges is final and binding.
