The world all over is facing a very tough time today and the threats that have been posed by COVID-19 has shaken all of us. The past 2-3 months have proven that the initial fears about the severity of the impact of COVID-19 were true and it has become one of the biggest health crisis of the century that has impacted each individual, organisation and the economy. The governments across border have responded very positively to this unprecedented crisis and we all have come together to carry forward a common mission of reducing the spread of this pandemic to maximum possible extent. I, on behalf of Lovely Professional University, would like to thank all the persons who are working tirelessly in serving the affected and also all those who are contributing to control this pandemic.
LPU, as a responsible educational institute, has also tried to contribute by not letting the constraints stop us from focusing on our prime objective of serving the society by conducting meaningful research and delivering quality education without compromising with the safety of all faculty, staff and students. We have made a small contribution by earmarking a fund of $1 million specifically to carry out research and innovation related to COVID-19. LPU is well aware that we now have a greater responsibility towards all the parents, students, staff, faculty, vendors, and all others to provide them with safe working environment once the university reopens after the end of this long lockdown. For the upcoming session, considering the health and safety norms, we have put in place all the necessary requirements needed for a safe and healthy academic environment. We are extremely confident that our students will have a fruitful upcoming academic year.
