About the Course: “Act as an Actor” is a dynamic and hands-on course designed to transform passionate learners into confident and versatile actors. This comprehensive course explores essential aspects of acting, providing participants with practical training in theatre games, monologues, voice and speech modulation, improvisation, and much more. Whether you re a beginner or have prior experience in theatre, this course caters to all skill levels. Through interactive sessions and experiential learning, participants will unlock their creative potential, sharpen their acting skills, and build a strong foundation in stagecraft. Learning Outcome of Course: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 1.Enhanced Performance Skills: Students will develop strong acting techniques, including vocal clarity, body movement, and emotional expression, enabling them to perform confidently in both scripted and improvised scenes. 2.Improved Voice and Speech Techniques: Students will gain proficiency in voice projection, articulation, and modulation, allowing them to communicate effectively and emotionally connect with an audience. 3.Creativity and Spontaneity in Improvisation: Through improvisational exercises, students will strengthen their ability to think quickly, create engaging narratives, and collaborate effectively with other actors in spontaneous scenarios. 4.Deepened Character Development: Students will learn to build authentic characters through psychological analysis, emotional memory techniques, and the exploration of character archetypes, resulting in more compelling and believable performances. 5.Stage Presence and Confidence: Students will overcome stage fright and develop a commanding presence, mastering body language, facial expressions, and performance techniques that increase self-assurance and engagement with the audience.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma
Assistant Professor

Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma is a seasoned theatre professional with over 20 years of experience in performing arts. He holds a Masters in Indian Theatre from Panjab University and a Ph.D. in Theatre and TV Studies from Punjabi University, Patiala. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at the School of Liberal and Creative Arts, specializing in Theatre and Music. With extensive teaching experience, including 10 years as a Senior Lecturer with the Indian Red Cross Society and eight years in Haryana’s School Education Department, Dr. Sharma has trained and mentored countless aspiring theatre professionals. He has worked with renowned figures like Sabana Azmi, Padma Shri Neelam Mansingh Chaudhry, and Dadi Pudimjee, enriching his creative expertise through collaborations with leading theatre directors across India. As a versatile actor, Dr. Sharma has featured in popular TV shows like Tu Dor Mai Patang (Zee Punjabi) and Savdhaan India (Star Bharat), as well as various documentaries. He is the founder and director of Rhythm Rang Mandal, a platform for promoting traditional and contemporary theatre. Dr. Sharma is also the author of NUKKAD NATAK AUR HARIYANVI LOK SHAILI, a book exploring street theatre and Haryanvi folk art, available on Flipkart.
