Course Description This course is designed as a foundational Hindi language programme for beginners with no prior exposure to Hindi. The course focuses on developing basic reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through a structured and activity-based approach. Emphasis is laid on functional language use, correct pronunciation, simple grammar, and everyday communication. The course aligns with the spirit of NEP 2020 by promoting multilingual competence, experiential learning, and learner-centric pedagogy. After successful completion of the course, learners will be able to: 1. Recognize and use the Devanagari script accurately. 2. Read and write basic Hindi words and simple sentences. 3. Communicate effectively in simple everyday situations using Hindi. 4. Understand basic spoken Hindi used in daily interactions. 5. Demonstrate confidence in using Hindi as a functional language.
Anil Kumar Pandey is working as an Assistant Professor in the Hindi Department of Lovely Professional University. He has special work in the field of poetry and criticism. So far, his 4 collections of poems and 6 books of criticism have been published by recognized publishing houses of the country. Currently he is editing two magazines, Bimba-Pratibimba and Rachnawali. Anil Kumar Pandey, who has done his Ph.D. on Medieval Hindi Poetry from the Hindi Department of Punjab University, Chandigarh, has organized many special events so far. Lovely Professional University's 'Kitaab Utsav' is one of them. Apart from reciting poetry in various parts of the country, he has also given lectures on contemporary contexts. He has been honored more than fifteen times by national and international organizations.
