Critical care services are essential for managing life-threatening conditions requiring advanced monitoring, organ support, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Many healthcare professionals (nurses, physiotherapists, interns, junior doctors, and allied health staff) lack structured ICU training. This course aims to bridge the skill gap and ensure standardized, safe, and evidence-based ICU practices.

  • ICU setup, equipment, and safety, ICU scoring systems (APACHE II, SOFA, GCS)
  • Hemodynamic monitoring, ABG interpretation, Fluid balance & renal parameters
  • Airway management, Oxygen therapy systems, Mechanical ventilation modes, Ventilator alarms & troubleshooting, Weaning protocols
  • Sepsis & septic shock management, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Acute Kidney Injury, Cardiac emergencies (MI, arrhythmias), Neurological emergencies (stroke, traumatic brain injury)
  • Endotracheal suction, Bag-valve-mask ventilation, Central line care, Chest physiotherapy, Early mobility and rehabilitation, Proning technique for ARDS
  • Hand hygiene, Biomedical waste management, VAP, CAUTI, CLABSI prevention bundles,
  • Handover process (ISBAR), Documentation of vitals and interventions, Family counseling and communication skills
