(Scholastic Evaluation Test)

This test is designed to evaluate your academic readiness for the university education. This test measures the examinee's communication skills, general and IT awareness, as well as reasoning capabilities.

Gyan Manthan – Test Pattern

  • It will be an MCQ based test.
  • Duration of test will be 1 hour (60 minutes) test.

Scoring: Each correct answer would carry 5 marks and for every wrong answer, 1 mark would be deducted.

General Instructions

  • Students will fill their responses in an OMR sheet.
  • Students will bring a blue/black pen to fill the OMR sheet.

Test Timings

  • 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

English ( 20 questions)

Grammar Concepts – Parts of speech, Pronouns, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Articles, Verbs, Modals, Tenses; Vocabulary: Antonyms, Synonyms, One word substitution; Common errors in sentence construction, Common errors in choice of vocabulary; Reading Comprehension skills.

Reasoning (10 questions)

Analogy, Odd Man out, word formation, Coding decoding, Blood relations, Series test, Direction sense test, Sitting arrangement, Statement and conclusions/assumptions, Assertion and reasoning, Figure Series, Arithmetic and Data Interpretation (charts etc.), Number-crunching (Arithmetic) means average, ratio, time & work, rate, benefit & loss, partnership, clocks, volume & surface area, simple & compound interest.

General Awareness (15 questions)

Awareness about the current affairs related to Sports Events, Awards and Honors, Science Invention and Discoveries, Books and Authors, Indian Politics, Who is Who, Books and Authors, Abbreviations, Important Days and Weeks, International and National Organizations.

IT Awareness ( 5 questions)

Awareness about usage of IT and related technologies in daily life including Internet, Social Media, Smart Phones, Emails, Word processing.

Note: District topper will be declared subject to participation of minimum 10 schools from that district. In case number of schools from some districts are less than 10, then university may merge such districts and declare district topper from these merged group of districts.

* In case two or more students are having highest marks in a district/state then candidate having more marks in best three subjects will be considered for the district/state topper award. In case of further tie, best two subject marks will be considered (or best one in case of clash). In case there is still tie, eldest candidate (on the basis of date of birth) will be considered for the award.
