Introduction<\/b><\/h2>\n

Admission is over. College has started. The excitement of joining B.Tech CSE is slowly settling down.<\/span><\/p>\n

And then, for many parents, a new set of questions begins.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Is my child attending all the classes?”<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/span><\/i>“Are they studying properly?”<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/span><\/i>“Why aren’t they learning more coding?”<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/span><\/i>“What if their friends are distracting them?”<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/span><\/i>“Should I check their marks regularly?”<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/span><\/i>“Should they already be preparing for placements?”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

These concerns are understandable.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a teacher who regularly interacts with students and parents, I have noticed that parents often want to do the right thing but are sometimes unsure <\/span>how much should parents intervene in college<\/b> and where guidance ends and pressure begins.<\/span><\/p>\n

For <\/span>first year B.Tech CSE<\/a> students especially, college is a major transition. <\/span>First year CSE students<\/b> are no longer school children who need constant reminders about every assignment and examination. At the same time, they are not experienced professionals who can automatically make every decision correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, <\/span>should parents intervene in college students’ studies?<\/b><\/p>\n

The answer is simple:<\/span><\/p>\n

Be involved, but don’t take over.<\/b><\/p>\n

1. Understand That College Is Different From School<\/b><\/h2>\n

One of the biggest changes after joining B.Tech is the amount of independence students receive.<\/span><\/p>\n
