LPU launched its Jalandhar Alumni Chapter

Those wereindeed great moments for presently roaring entrepreneur and Founder CEO of sabpossible.comRitesh Vatts; Girish Kumar (MPA 2014 Batch) who is a bollywood actor and hasacted in Aamir Khan’s movie ‘Dangal’; Gurpreet Kaur (M.Ed 2014 Batch) who hasrecently been crowned as Mrs Punjab; and, hundreds of other alumni of LovelyProfessional University (LPU) when they reunited with one another in Jalandhar,along with their family members, on the launching of LPU Jalandhar AlumniChapter. Gathered alumni recounted their life spent at LPU and shared theirpast and present experiences with one another and senior LPU officials, whichre-connected them to their university. Full of deep seated emotions, alumnishared about their respective class rooms; sports ground where they used toplay different games; hostel rooms where they lived home like life; talkedabout their mentors and teachers who shaped them to be truly global citizens;and, relived varied experiential moments of meaningful and fun-filled daysspent at their alma mater- LPU.

In fact,Alumni Association of Lovely Professional University (LPUAA) keeps onorganising reunions of LPU alumni of different batches at top cities, not onlyof India but also of different countries including the US, Canada, Australia,Singapore, Bhutan, Bangladesh. LPU alumni either entrepreneurs or working atcoveted posts in top-notch companies including Google, Microsoft, Cognizant,Accenture, TCS, HCL and other MNCs, gather to relive time spent at LPU Campus.University being situated in Jalandhar region, LPU always had its Jalandharalumni meet at the campus itself; however, continuously increasing strength ofJalandhar based alumni necessitated LPU to launch its separate Jalandhar AlumniChapter with recent organization of its maiden reunion at Hotel Kings of thecity. Senior Administrators from different divisions of LPU including Dr HemaSharda, Prof Dr Rajesh Verma, Dean Dr Sorabh Lakhanpal greeted and addressed 300+LPU alumni of different batches since 2006 and their family members.

On thisoccasion, annual elections for key positions of Jalandhar Alumni Chapter werealso held. All of the Jalandhar region alumni took active part in electionprocesses and those who could not come from far off places also voted onlinefrom other cities and countries as well. LPU alumnus, Balpreet Singh Sandhu (BTech ECE 2010 Batch) has been elected President of Jalandhar Chapterunanimously. Pratyush (B Tech Mech Engg 2017 Batch), who is working atFleetomoto, has been elected Vice President. Other executive team members areSiddhartha Aggarwal (B Tech CSE 2013 Batch) Manager, Savi International; Simran(B Tech - Biotech 2012 Batch) Program Coordinator with Conference Services;Sahil (MBA- 2011 Batch) Project Officer with Travel Desk; and, Jaspreet (M Tech- CSE 2016 Batch) Game Developer with Radioactive Games. Prior to this, manyother reunions of different chapters have already been held at different topcities of India including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, New Delhi, Jammu,Chandigarh and more.

LPUAAkeeps alumni ever connected to their alma mater through reunions, events, guestlectures and networking opportunities. Association also endeavours to bringalumni community together to support its members through 'self-help' withincommunity. It also keeps alumni updated and informed about activities andachievements at the University.  In turn, informed and interested alumnibring added strength to the university in pursuit of excellence. LPUAA hascreated many Alumni Chapters in India as well as abroad to let alumnicontribute to LPU vision of being leading university in academics, research,excellence and innovation. LPU also recognized outstanding accomplishments madeby alumni in their respective fields by bringing prestige to the alma-mater.They were honoured for being great researchers, entrepreneurs, leaders, brandambassadors in their fields and more.
