Objective of Scholarship

The objective of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is to provide financial assistance to SC /OBC students studying at Post Matriculation or Post Secondary stage to enable them to complete the education. In this scheme, all the students who are pursuing their studies through regular courses and correspondence courses are eligible for this scheme.
Eligibility Conditions
  • In this scheme, the scholarship may be paid to the SC students whose parents/guardians family income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/- (Rupees two lakh, fifty thousand only) per annum.
  • In case of OBC students, the parents/guardians family income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh) per annum.
  • Course fee/tuition fee and maintenance allowance will be credited directly to the students bank account by the Welfare Office, Chandigarh.
  • A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
  • Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible. The term correspondence includes distant and continuing education.
  • Student must be regular to his/her studies.
  • Student must maintained minimum attendance as per university policy.
  • Student should be permanent resident of Punjab.
Objective of Scholarship

  • The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.
  • Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
Eligibility Conditions
  • Scholarship may be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
  • The Annual Income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.2 lakh.
  • 30% of scholarship may be earmarked for girl students.
  • Students from BPL families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order.
  • The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination. Scholarship will not be awarded for more than the normal period of time taken to obtain Certificate/Degree/M. Phil Degree/Doctorate Degree.
  • Course fee/tuition fee and maintenance allowance will be credited directly to the students’ bank account.
  • The student obtaining benefits under this scholarship scheme shall not be allowed to avail of benefits under any other scholarship scheme implemented by State Government/UT Administration, for the same purpose.

Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses.
Eligibility Conditions
  • Financial assistance may be given to pursue graduate level or post graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution.
  • Course fee and Maintenance allowance will be credited/transferred directly into the bank account of selected students.
  • Students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly on merit basis.
  • A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.
  • The annual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should
    not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh from all sources.

Objective of Scholarship

  • The objectives of the Special Scholarship Scheme for North Eastern Region are:
    1) To provide equal opportunities for higher studies in NE Region. 
  •  To increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in NE Region.  
  • To focus more on professional education in NE Region.  
  • Optimum utilization of NER Budgetary Allocation.
    It is envisaged to provide ten thousand (10,000) fresh scholarships every year beginning from the academic year 2014-15 for general degree courses, technical and professional courses, including medical and para-medical courses.
Eligibility Conditions
  • Students with domicile of NER who have passed Class XII or equivalent exam from a school situated within NER through any recognized Board of Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), National institute of open Schooling (NIOS) within NER only, and have secured admission in general degree course, technical and professional courses including medical and para-medical courses (Integrated courses included) in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, within and outside the States of NER.
  • For availing scholarship under this scheme, the income of the parents of the student should not exceed Rs.4.5 lakh per annum.
  • An amount of Rs.3500/- p.m. for General Degree courses and Rs. 5000/- p.m. for Technical & Professional courses (including Medical & Para medical courses) will be given through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiary student.
Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to 1000 SC/ST candidates to pursue postgraduate level studies in Professional subjects at recognized Indian Universities/Institutions/Colleges.
Eligibility Conditions
  • The candidate must have obtained Graduate degree in the relevant subject and obtained admission at Postgraduate level for regular full time course in any of the Professional subject in a recognized University/Institution/College.
  • Candidates pursuing post graduate course in professional subjects by correspondence or by Distance Education mode are not eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme.
  • The upper age limit for male applicants is 45 years as on 1st July on the year of application, and 50 years in the case of female candidates. In exceptional cases, the age may be relaxed.
  • The number of slots available under the scheme are 1000 per year. The tenure of award is for two/three years depending upon tenure of the postgraduate course.
Objective of Scholarship

The scheme caters total number of 200 Fellowship [Junior Research Fellows (JRF)] per year to students with disabilities. The scheme covers all universities/institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Non-Universities/Institutions and is implemented by the UGC itself on the pattern of the scheme of UGC Fellowship being awarded to research students pursuing M.Phil. and Ph.D. These fellowships will be available to students with disabilities who are covered under The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. Thus, a person with disability who wishes to avail the benefit under the Act has to obtain a disability certificate from the medical authority notified for the purpose.
Eligibility Conditions
  • Any student with disabilities who has been admitted to M.Phil./Ph.D. degree in a University or academic institution by completing the required formalities for admission in that University or academic institution is eligible for the award of Fellowship, subject to provision of the scheme as per the advertisement of UGC. The candidate must get himself/herself registered for M.Phil/Ph.D at the first available opportunity but not later than within a period of two years from the receipt of award letter. This period is not extendable. However, the actual payment of fellowship will be made with effect from the date of joining only.
  • After two years, if the progress in the research works of the awardee is found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF). The research work will be assessed by a three member committee set up by the University. The committee will consist of the Supervisor, Head of the Department and one outside expert in the subject. JRF may be terminated in case the progress of the candidate is not found satisfactory by the committee. The SRF shall be sanctioned on year to year basis on the recommendation of the Supervisor of the candidate duly accepted/rejected by the Head of the Department and finally approved by the Vice-Chancellor. The total period of award of JRF and SRF shall not exceed a period of five years. The fellowship is paid from the date of registration of the students in M.Phil./Ph.D. course.
  • The students with disabilities once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to any other benefits from Central or State Government or any other body like UGC offering similar benefit to avoid duplication and increase coverage. Only those doing regular and full time M.Phil./Ph.D. course of a University/Research Institution shall be eligible for the fellowship. Employees of any University/College/Educational Institution/Central/State/UT Government shall be excluded from availing Fellowship, even if they are on Study Leave or EOL to pursue the M.Phil./Ph.D. course.
Objective of Scholarship

The objectives of the proposed scheme are :
  • to support post graduate education of single girl child in non-professional courses only.
  • to recognize the value of observance of small family norm.
Eligibility Conditions
  • Any single girl child who happen to be a only child or twin daughter or fraternal daughter in the family, if one son and one daughter is available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.
  • The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full-time 1st year Masters Degree course in any recognized university or a post graduate college.
  • This scholarship is available to PG-I year student only.
  • Admission to PG Course in distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.

    Age: Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible.

  • The financial assistance available under the scheme is Rs 3100 /- per month.
Objective of Scholarship

The objectives of the proposed scheme are :
  • To support higher education of single girl child in Social Sciences.
  • To recognize the value of observance of small family norm.
  • To recognize the norm of single girl child in society.
  • To propagate the concept of single girl child norm.
  • Promoting single girls in the society.
Eligibility Conditions
  • Any single girl child of her parents.
  • Only girl child in the family without having any brother or the girl student who are twin daughters/ fraternal daughter may also apply for scholarship under the aforesaid scheme.
  • In a family if one son and one daughter is available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.
  • The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full -time Ph. D. program in Social Sciences in any recognized University/Institute. Admission to Ph.D. Course in Distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.

    Age : Girl students up to the age of 40 years for general and 45 years for the reserved category SC/ST/OBC and Physical handicapped at the time of admission in Ph.D courses are eligible.
Objective of Scholarship

  • The objective of this award is to provide an opportunity to carry out the advanced studies and research in science, engineering and technology, humanities and social sciences in Indian Universities and Colleges recognized under Section 2 (f) and fit to receive assistance under section 12(B)of the UGC Act 1956/Institutes of National Importance established by the Central/State Government.
  • The candidate should not be more than 55 years of age as on 1st July of the year of application. The total duration of the fellowship is five years. There shall be reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped candidates as per provision of the constitution and instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time.
  • 55% marks at UG level and 60% of marks at PG level in case of general/open category, while for reserved category candidates, those will be 50% at UG level and 55% at PG level respectively. Age up to 55 years for the candidates belonging to general/open category and that will be 60 years for reserved category/minority community. Only Ph.D awarded unemployed candidates will be eligible for the award of Post Doctoral Fellowship.

Objective of Scholarship

The objective of this award is to provide fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students belonging to SC/ST to pursue higher studies leading to M.Phil and Ph.D degrees in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.
Eligibility Conditions
  • The candidate should belong to SC/ST and should have passed the Post Graduate examination.
  • The selection will be made on the basis of merit of the candidates. The candidate must get himself/herself registered for M.Phil./Ph.D at the first available opportunity but not later than within a period of two years from the receipt of award letter. This period is not extendable. However, the actual payment of fellowship may be made with effect from the date of approval of fellowship or date of joining whichever is later.
Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the Fellowship is to provide integrated five year fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students from minority communities, as notified by the Central Government to pursue higher studies such as M. Phil and Ph.D. The Fellowship will cover all Universities/Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) and section 3 of the UGC Act and will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs through UGC for students belonging to the minority communities. The fellowship under Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students will be on the pattern of UGC Fellowships awarded to research students pursuing regular and full time M. Phil and Ph.D courses.
Eligibility Conditions
A candidate has to fulfil the following conditions to be eligible for award of this fellowship
  • He/she should belong to one of the minority communities notified under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
  • He/she should get admission and registration for regular and full time M.Phil/Ph.D courses in University/Academic Institution by fulfilling conditions of admission of that University/Institution, subject to provisions of the Fellowship as per advertisement of UGC.
  • The minority community students once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to benefits under any other source, Central or State Government or any other body like UGC for the same study.
  • Prior clearance of NET/SLET examination will not be a prerequisite for award of Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students for M.Phil/Ph.D.
  • In order to qualify for the award of JRF/ SRF the UGC norms would be applicable at pre-M.Phil and pre-Ph.D stage, respectively, including the minimum score of 50% at post graduate level.

Objective of Scholarship

The scheme envisages building capacities of the youth of J&K to enable them to compete in the normal course. Scholarship to meet the expenditure towards tuition fees, hostel fees, cost
of books and other incidental charges would be provided to the students belonging to Jammu & Kashmir who, after passing Class XII or equivalent examination, secure admission
in Government colleges / institutions and other select institutions outside the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
Eligibility Conditions
Students belonging to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, appearing for the Class XII or equivalent exam through the State Board of Jammu & Kashmir and from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated schools located in Jammu & Kashmir, pursuing General Degree courses, Engineering and Medical studies in Govt. colleges / institutes / other non-govt. institutes recognized by AICTE or UGC, and other regulatory authorities or institutes created through an Act of the State Govt., located outside the State of Jammu & Kashmir, would be eligible to apply for scholarship under this scheme. Students pursing ‘Integrated Courses’ in such colleges / institutes where the scheme is applicable would also be eligible to apply for scholarship for the duration of the course. The income-ceiling is Rs. 6 lakhs per annum for the academic session 2014-15.
Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Schedule Caste students, OBCs and physically handicapped students studying at Post Matriculation or Post Secondary stage to enable them to complete their education .These scholarships are available for studies in India only.
Eligibility Conditions
  • These scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized Post-Matriculation and Post-Secondary Courses pursued in Recognized Institutions.
  • Students who after having completed their educational career in one professional line, e.g. L.L.B. after B.T./B.Ed. will not be eligible
  • Students who after Failing or Passing the Under Graduate /Post Graduate examinations in Arts/Science/Commerce join any recognized Professional or Technical Certificate/Diploma/Degree Courses will be awarded scholarships if otherwise eligible. No subsequent failure will be condoned except courses in group “A” and no further change in the course will be allowed.
  • A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other Scholarship/Stipend.
  • Students who have already received coaching in any of the Pre-Examination Training Centres with Financial Assistance from the Govt. will not be eligible.
  • In case of SC students Scholarship may be paid to the students whose Parents/Guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs 1,00,000/- per annum.
  • In case of ST students Scholarship may be paid to the students whose Parents/Guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs 1,08,000/- per annum.
  • In case of OBC students Scholarship may be paid to the students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs 44,500/- per annum.
Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to Schedule tribes students of Arunachal Pradesh so as to enable them to pursue various course of Higher studies approved by Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
Eligibility Conditions
  • The stipend will be admissible to students who belongs to Schedule tribes of the state as notified by central. State Government and are permanent resident of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • ST students who are in Full Time employment are not eligible for award of stipend.
Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the OBC students studying at post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.
Eligibility Conditions
  • The scholarships will be open to Indian nationals belonging to OBCs, as notified by the Central Govt./State Govt./ UT Admn
  • Scholarships shall not be awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Course and Private Pilot License Courses. Courses at Training-Ship Dufferin (Now Rejendra); Courses of training at the Military College, Dehradun, Courses at pre-examination Training Centres of All India and State levels.
  • Only those candidates who belong to OBCs so specified in relation to the State/UT to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education will be eligible.
  • Students who after failing or passing the Under Graduate/Post-Graduate examinations in Arts/science/Commerce join any recognized professional or Technical certificate / diploma /degree courses will be awarded scholarships if otherwise eligible. No subsequent failure will be condoned except courses in Group ’A’ and no further change in the course will be allowed.

Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled Caste students studying at post matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.
Eligibility Conditions
The scholarships are open to nationals of India.
  • These scholarships may be given for the study of all recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions with the following exceptions:
    "Scholarships are not awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Courses and Private Pilot license Courses. Courses at Training - Ship Dufferin (Now Rajendra), courses of training at the Military College, Dehradun, courses at Pre-examination Training Centres of all India and State levels."
  • Only those candidates who belong to Scheduled Castes so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognised University or Board of Secondary Education, will be eligible.
  • Candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in different subject e.g. I.Sc. after I.A. or B.Com. after B.A. or M.A. in other subject will not be eligible.
  • Students who, after having completed their educational career in one professional line, e.g. L.L.B. after B.T./B.Ed. will not be eligible.
  • Students studying in Class XI of the Higher Secondary School courses of the XII Class of the Multipurpose High School will not be eligible for it being a continuous school course. However, in cases where Xth class examination of such courses is treated as equivalent to Matriculation and students who after passing Xth class join other courses, such students will be treated as post-matric students and may be eligible for the award of scholarships.
  • Students pursuing Post Graduate courses in medicine may be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
  • Students who after failing or passing the under graduate/post-graduate examinations in Arts/Science/Commerce join any recognised professional or Technical certificate/diploma/degree courses may be awarded scholarships if otherwise eligible. No subsequent failure will be condoned except courses in Group ’I’.
  • Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible. The term correspondence includes distant and continuing education.
  • Employed students whose income combined with the income of their parents/guardians does not exceed the maximum prescribed income ceiling are made eligible to post-matric scholarships to the extent of reimbursement of all compulsorily payable non-refundable fees.
  • All children of the same parents/guardians will be entitled to receive benefits of the scheme.
  • A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
Objective of Scholarship

The Scheme provides financial assistance to the Scheduled Tribe students studying at post matriculation or postsecondary stage.
Eligibility Conditions
Scholarships are paid to students whose parents’/guardians’ income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh per annum.
  • All children of the same parents/guardian are eligible.
  • Scheduled Tribe candidates who have passed the matriculation or higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education are eligible.
  • The scholarships are available for the study of all recognized post matriculation or post-secondary courses in recognized institutions except certain identified training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Courses, Private Pilot Licence courses etc.
  • Students studying through correspondence courses are eligible.
  • Employed students on leave without pay for the entire duration of a full time course are eligible for course.
  • The scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
  • Students who have received coaching in any of the pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Government will not be eligible.
Objective of Scholarship

CBSE Scholarship is awarded to meritorious students and students who are in need of Financial help to pursue their higher studies. CBSE is one of the oldest education board in India.
Eligibility Conditions
  • This CBSE Scholarship scheme is there to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low income families to pursue higher studies. This CBSE scholarship may be awarded on the basis of the results of senior secondary examinations.
  • Eligibility: Minimum 80% marks in class 12 from a CBSE school.
  • Reward: Scholarship of Rs. 1000 per month for three years in graduation (Rs. 2000 per month for 4th and 5th year in case of a professional course and also for post-graduation of 2 years)
Objective of Scholarship

PSEB Scholarship is awarded to meritorious students and students who are in need of Financial help to pursue their higher studies.
Eligibility Conditions
  • This PSEB Scholarship scheme is there to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low income families to pursue higher studies. This PSEB scholarship may be awarded on the basis of the results of senior secondary examinations.
  • Eligibility: Minimum 80% marks in class 12th  from a PSEB school.

  • In case of OBC students, the parents/guardians family income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh) per annum.
  • Course fee/tuition fee and maintenance allowance will be credited directly to the students bank account.
  • A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
  • Student must be regular to his/her studies.
  • Student must maintained minimum attendance as per university policy.
  • Student should be permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.
Objective of Scholarship

The objective of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is to provide financial assistance to SC /ST/OBC students.
Eligibility Conditions
  • RTF : Reimbursement of Tuition Fee in full for students pursuing post matric courses approved by the University/Board.
  • RTF is sanctioned twice in a year i.e. September and March of the Academic Year.
  • MTF: Maintenance charges or Mess charges are sanctioned every month as per the rates mentioned below:
Objective of Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to meritorious and deserving Bhutanese students who are studying in various recognized institutes/colleges in India on self financed basis.
Eligibility Conditions
  • Students can apply directly to the Embassy in the prescribed application form which can be downloaded from the Embassy’s website. Prior to submission, the forms have to be counter-signed by the Head of the College/Institute where the applicants are studying.
  • The selected candidates are requested to provide a Bonafide Certificate from their college/Institute along with the College/Personal bank account details.
  • The scholarship amount will be transferred into the College/Personal Bank account through NEFT. In case of students who have completed the course (to be verified by the college in their reply), the scholarship money will be paid in the personal Bank account in Bhutan by the Embassy of India, Thimphu directly to the student.
  • Forms for the Ambassador’s Scholarship for the period of 2015-2016 will be available from July, 2015 onwards on  website (www.indianembassythimphu.bt) or on  face book page (www.facebook.com/IndiainBhutan).

ONGC  Offers Scholarships To Meritorious SC/ST Students

Pursuing Professional Courses In Engineering, Medical Stream And Masters Degree Course In Business Administration, Geology And Geophysics.
Eligibility Conditions
  • The scholarships are open for studies in India and for Indian nationals only.
  • Candidate should be a student of 1st   year of Graduate Engineering or 1st  year of Masters degree in Geology/Geophysics or MBA. The scholarship shall be admissible only for pursuing full time regular courses by ISC/CBSE/MCI/AICTE/UGC/Association of India Universities/State Education Boards/State Government/Central Government.
  • Students pursuing four years Engineering courses and Two years Masters course in Business Administration & Masters degree in Geology/ Geophysics are eligible.
  • Candidate should have obtained minimum 60% marks in 12th  class for Engineering discipline. Similarly 60% marks are necessary in graduation for P.G. Courses i.e. Geology/Geophysics/MBA. Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA/CGPA) of minimum 6.0 in 10 points scale of grading system.
  • The specific zone where a student can apply for scholarship shall be decided on the basis of the location of University/College/Institute in which the student was studying for the qualifying examination (i.e. 12th  class for Graduate courses and Graduation degree for Post Graduate courses) irrespective of the domicile of the student.
  • Gross annual income of family of the candidate from all sources should not be more than Rs 4.50 lakhs per annum (i.e. Rs.37,500/- per month).
  • The age limit of the applicant is maximum 30 years as on 1st  of October,2014 for the Academic Session.
  • The candidates should not be availing or intend to avail any other financial assistance/scholarship from any other source. However, in case of student of getting fee waiver/ reimbursement of tuition fees from any of the State governments are eligible for applying for the scholarships.
  • The final list of the scholarships beneficiaries shall be posted on website www.ongcindia.com by the second week of December of every year.
  • The continuation of scholarships once awarded shall be subject to satisfactory performance in each year’s annual examination and conduct of the candidate. Scholarship shall not be paid for the year where the student fails to maintain the scale of 5 grade points out of 10 grade points scale or secure less than 50% in the examination, as the case may be.
