Early Decision Benefit and Phases of Fee/Scholarship/Financial Aid

  1. The Programme fee as well as Scholarship & Financial Aid applicable to an applicant will depend on the time when he/she apply and registers with the university for Admission and /or for LPUNEST (in case of B.Tech and MBA).
  2. Different Phases: In total three phases has been defined.
    1. Phase- I (also known as EDB-‘Early Decision Benefit’ Phase ) » On or before 30th May 2015
    2. Phase – II » Between 1st June 2015 and 30th June 2015
    3. Phase – III » Between 1st July 2015 and 25th July 2015
  3. PHASE-I i.e. Early Decision Benefit Phase
    1. Early Decision Benefit (EDB) is being offered in Admission 2015 for applicants who decide to apply and register early with the University before a stipulated date named as EDB Cut-Off date (Phase – I).
    2. Students admitted with Early Decision Benefit (Phase – I) may avail following benefits:
      • Fee of last year i.e. 2013 (or even lesser than last year fee in certain programmes) will be charged from students admitted under EDB scheme (Phase – I). All such students will end up paying lesser fee than the students not admitted through EDB Scheme.
      • Higher/more Scholarship compared to other phases for certain Programmes.
  4. Phase – II

    Applicants admitted during Phase – II will be charged with Fee of 2015. However they will generally have higher scholarship/Financial Aid compared to Phase – III.

  5. Phase – III

    Applicants admitted during Phase – III will be charged with Fee of 2015. However they will be eligible for Scholarship / Financial aid and this will be last phase for Scholarship. After Phase – III, applicant may not be able to get Scholarship / Financial Aid.

  6. Continuation of Fee / Scholarship:

    Fee and Scholarship as applicable in a specific phase, will continue for all the semesters (years) of the normal duration of the degree subject to conditions as specified in ‘Terms and Conditions for Scholarship / Financial Aid / Early Decision Benefit’.

  7. Implementation:

    EDB as well as Fee and Scholarship in different Phases will be implemented in the following two ways depending on the Programme of Admission.

    • For B.Tech & MBA Programme
    • For all other Programmes
    1. Implementation of EDB and Phases of Fee/Scholarship for B.TECH AND MBA Programme
      Phase – I (i.e. EDB Phase)
      1. To avail Early Decision Benefit (i.e. Fee / Scholarship applicable in Phase-I) for B.Tech and MBA Programmes (including Dual Degree, Hons, Twinning and International Exposure but not for lateral entry and Specialised MBAs) student has to appear and clear LPUNEST-2015 before the EDB cut-off date i.e. 31st 15th June 2015. May 2015. However applicant may take admission on or before 15th June 2015. It must be taken care that to appear for LPUNEST-2015 on or before 31st May, the last date to apply is 25th May 2015. However to avoid last moment rush, applicants are advised to apply early.       2. After appearing for LPUNEST-2015 before EDB cut-off date (31st come to know whether (or not) May 2015), applicant will come to know whether (or not)
        • He/she has qualified LPUNEST-2015 (i.e. scored more than the prescribed Cut-off marks as decided by University).Applicants qualifying LPUNEST will be eligible for Phase – I fee i.e. 2013 fee. Result regarding whether an applicant has qualified or not qualified LPUNEST-2015 will be declared immediately after completing the test.
        • He/she is among top 25% applicants appearing for LPUNEST-2015 subject to qualifying LPUNEST-2015 in Phase – I. In fact separate list for top 5% , next 10% (6% - 15%) and next 10% (16% - 25%) will be announced. Result regarding whether an applicant is mong top 25% applicants appearing for LPUNEST-2015 will be declared on 5th June 2015.
      3. Applicants under EDB Scheme will have the following advantages:
        • Fee of 2013: All those applicants who qualify LPUNEST-2015 (may or may not be among top 25% applicants appearing for LPUNEST-2015) during Phase – I (i.e. on or before 31st May 2015) will be eligible for Admission with Fee of 2013.
        • Scholarship on the basis of LPUNEST-2015: All those applicants who fall in list of top 25% applicants appearing for LPUNEST (subject to qualifying LPUNEST-2015), will be eligible for Scholarship upto Rs. 1 Lac per annum.

        • Multiple Options for Scholarship: All those applicants who qualify LPUNEST-2015 (mayor may not be among top 25% applicants appearing for LPUNEST-2015) may also avail Scholarship on the basis of Marks in Qualifying Examination (10+2 or graduation as applicable) or performance in National / State Level Entrance Exam:

      4. It may happen that result of qualifying exam is already declared before EDB cut-off date and applicant is eligible for Admission in B.Tech or MBA directly based on his marks in qualifying exam. Even such student has to appear for LPUNEST-2015 as mentioned above, if he/she is interested to avail EDB i.e. Phase – I Fee and Scholarship. If such applicant does not want to appear for tests as mentioned above then of course he/she can take admission but fee and Scholarship of Phase – II (without EDB) will be applicable.

      5. Phase – II [1st June 2015 to 30th June 2015]
        • Applicants admitted in Phase – II, will not be getting the advantage of Fee of 2013 [last year fee as available in Phase – I (under EDB Scheme)], rather during Phase-II, applicants will be charged with fee of 2015. However the Scholarship / Financial Aid amount available in Phase – II is more than Phase – III.
        • Two different brackets of Scholarship/Financial Aid are defined in Phase – II. Out of these two brackets, one of the Scholarship bracket will be applicable to the applicant, depending on whether he/she qualify LPUNEST-2015 or not.
        • Applicants who are among top 25% applicants subject to qualifying LPUNEST-2015 in Phase - II may avail Financial Aid of Rs. 40000/- per annum.

        • To avail the Scholarship/Financial Aid as defined in Phase – II, applicant must take admission on or before 30th June 2015.
        • It must also be taken care that to appear for LPUNEST-2015 in Phase – II i.e. on or before 30th June 2015, the last date to apply is 25th June 2015.         Phase – III [1st July 2015 to 25th July 2015]
        1. During Phase-III also, applicants will be charged with fee of 2015. However during this phase applicant have chance to avail Scholarship / Financial Aid and after this Phase (i.e. after 25th July 2015) Scholarship / Financial Aid may not be available.
        2. Just like Phase – II, two different brackets of Scholarship/Financial Aid are defined in Phase – III. Out of these two brackets, one of the Scholarship bracket will be applicable to the applicant, depending on whether he/she qualify LPUNEST-2015 or not.
        3. Applicants who are among top 25% applicants subject to qualifying LPUNEST-2015 in Phase - II may avail Financial Aid of Rs. 20000/- per annum.

        4. To avail the Scholarship/Financial Aid as defined in Phase – III, applicant must take admission on or before 25th July 2015.
        5. It must also be taken care that to appear for LPUNEST-2015 in Phase – III i.e. on or before 25th July 2015, the last date to apply is 20th July 2015.         Students passing out from LPU and having 9.5 or more CGPA need not to appear for LPUNEST- 2015 for availing any benefit of Scholarship / Fee (including EDB)
    2. Implementation of EDB and Phases of Fee/Scholarship for all other Programmes
      • For all other Programmes (Programmes other than B.Tech and MBA) applicant has to take admission / Provisional registration (with full or part payment) before the last date of the concerned phase to avail advantage of fee and scholarship applicable in that phase.
      • Fee of 2013 is applicable only during Phase – I (EDB Phase) and for Phase – II as well as Phase –III, Fee of 2015 will be applicable.
      • In each phase Scholarship will be available on the basis of
        • Marks in eligibility qualification,
        • Marks in qualification previous to eligibility qualification (in case of PG and Lateral Entry Programmes),
        • On the basis of National / State Level Entrance Tests (only in selected Programmes)
        • On the basis of LPUNEST-2015 conducted through Schools (only in Programmes after 10th 10+2)
