We understand that as an international student may at first find many aspects of studying overseas different from his/her own country. It is for this reason that we provide specialist support to all international students through the Division of International Affairs (DIA)
Various services provided to the international students:

• Meet and Greet: Free pick-up facilities are arranged for all international students coming to LPU. On their arrival at Jalandhar or Phagawara railway station or the bus terminals, the LPU representatives receive all international students and bring them to the University campus.
  
  
• Orientation Programme: Orientation Programme starts a week before teaching starts and is the first introduction to student life at LPU. During orientation, students will enroll in their courses, familiarize themselves with the University campus and learn about resources available to make their study easier and successful. The students can meet lots of new people and join clubs and committees. A complete campus tour is also arranged to familiarize the international students.
  
  
• Counselling: Special one to one counseling is provided for all new international students to cater to their special needs and making their settlement in their new environment quick, easy, comfortable and convenient. The psychologist and counsellors on the campus provide a confidential and professional service conveniently accessible to all students. The counsellors can address students’ worries and concerns including study difficulties, home sickness, adjustment issues etc.
  
  
• Special Events: Special activities and events are organized all around the year for the international students. These help to contribute to cultural and social elements to the academic life to make the stay of the international students more pleasant, interesting and stimulating experience. They act as a way a way to learn the cultural heritage of various countries, and celebrate the unity in diversity. Global Village is one such event.

• English Language Support: LPU offers intensive English Language programmes for all international students who wish to strengthen their English language skills. These programmes are offered in the first year of study and open to all international students whose native language is not English. • Single Window Service: The University realizes that it has an additional responsibility towards its International students. For this purpose a full fledged division of international affairs has been setup to provide a single window service facility for all international students studying at LPU, to give students advice on visa requirements, medical insurance, assistance with adjusting in new environment and other general concerns.
