LPU awarded Top Performing Schools Students for First Phase of its Entrance Test ‘LPUNEST-2015’

LPU conducts its B Tech Entrance Test ‘National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) annually in almost all prominent cities across India under different phases. The scores got in the test are taken as eligibility for admission and for scholarship up to Rs 5 Lakh per student.  This year, for the first phase of LPUNEST-2015 test more than 300 schools participated with huge registration of 35,000 students from 11 districts of Punjab. Of these, the best performing 11 schools per district are individually honoured with laptops, printers, internet dongles, school needed softwares & website creation help. State topper-Students are awarded APPLE I-PADs and 11 district topper- students are awarded with ‘HP Slate Tablets’. In addition to this, near 4000 students are offered coveted LPU scholarships.

The top performing schools are: Holy Heart Presidency School (Amritsar);  Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) (Gurdaspur); Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) (Hoshiarpur); Swami Sant Dass Public Schools Jalandhar and also of (Kapurthala); Peace Public School  (Ludhiana); Blooming Buds School (Moga); Air Force School (Pathankot); Modern Senior Secondary School (Patiala); Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School (Rup Nagar); and, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya  School (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar). Eleven topper students from each district are: Piyush Sharma (Amritsar); Sanchitdeep Singh (GurdasPur); Attinder Kaur (Hoshiarpur); Hasanpreet Singh (Jalandhar); Mansi Anand (Kapurthala); Dwijesh Kapila (Ludhiana); Amanjot Kaur (Moga); Sonali (Pathankot); Jaspreet Singh (Patiala); Balwinder Singh (Rupnagar); and, Ranjit Singh (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar). Sanchitdeep Singh, Hasanpreet Singh, Mansi Anand, and Jaspreet Singh are also declared as state toppers.

Congratulating the best performers school heads, students and scholarship winners, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal informed: “Keeping in view the convenience of students, LPU NEST test is being conducted in on-line format in almost all main cities across India for its second phase. On the basis of test scores, the merit holders not only avail quality higher education but also scholarship up to Rs 5 Lakh per student. This year, under a unique tie-up, we have also facilitated aspiring students to purchase application forms from online mega store Flip kart.”

Illustrative, last year more than 3 lakh applicants had registered for LPUNEST-2014 augmenting this test to be the largest private entrance test including all state, central government and private tests held in India. In 2014, the test also turned out as overall 5th largest entrance test in India after JEE, AIPMT, GATE, and EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh) tests, as per the best information available till date. It is also to elaborate that a student who qualifies LPU NEST is exempted from appearing in other LPU eligibility tests conducted for admissions.  Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for test and students should have either completed or shall be appearing in the final examination of 10+2, in 2015.
