- Managements students of LPU gets tips of Water Management at Guest Lecture by Dr. Sucha Singh

Highlighting the importance of conservation of water resources and its impact on the health of a booming economy, Dr. Sucha Singh, Director General CRRID (The Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development) called upon students of LPU to share the common social responsibility of managing water reserves effectively and accord greater importance to a resource that has far reaching consequences in sustaining economic growth. Dr. Gill stressed that with explosive growth in population, unchecked and unplanned urbanization and scant regard towards maintaining existing and developing new water resources; future generations will have to face acute shortage of water, which will negatively affect the quality of lives of millions of people in our county. The problem is not with the adequacy of water, but in optimum utilization of the same. India has access to 4% of the world’s fresh water, but sadly it has failed to tap the valuable gift of nature effectively. The renowned economist stated that everything cannot be left to government agencies; and every citizen of the country owes a responsibility for a better nation of tomorrow. And hence the need for greater awareness and participation of nation’s youth in conserving water resources.
